โœจ Happy New Year 2026 โœจ

I hope everyone has had a really nice Christmas break and a wonderful start to the New Year. For us, this holiday season was filled with warmth, laughter, and so many little moments that truly matter.

We had a really good Christmas with friends and family, just the way we love it. Decorating the Christmas tree with my kids was one of my favourite partsโ€”messy, fun, and full of excitement. We hosted Christmas dinner at home, went out together to see beautiful Christmas lights, and the kids were absolutely over the moon with their gifts. Seeing their happiness made everything feel extra special.

I honestly love this time of year. School holidays, no work pressure, slower mornings, and more family timeโ€”itโ€™s been so refreshing. We even managed to go camping, which was our first-ever camping trip! Iโ€™ll be sharing more about that soon because it definitely deserves its own post.

So far, 2026 has started really well for us, and my heart is full of gratitude. A new year always feels like a fresh pageโ€”new goals, new energy, and new chances to grow. 2026 already feels hopeful, calm, and full of possibility, and Iโ€™m choosing to walk into it with positivity and purpose.

Wishing each and every one of you a very happy 2026. May this year bring you good health, happiness, love, success, and many reasons to smile. Hereโ€™s to a positive, productive, and beautiful year ahead for all of us โœจ๐Ÿฅ‚

Halloween fun ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘ป

Itโ€™s amazing how big Halloween has become here in Australia lately โ€” and Iโ€™m absolutely loving it! This year was extra special because the kids had a Halloween disco at school, so they were dressed up from the morning. My daughter went as a cute little Minion, my son was a scary skeleton, and I joined in the fun with a red dress for my devil look ๐Ÿ˜ˆ.

Weโ€™ve been having the best time walking around the neighbourhood, collecting chocolates, and soaking up all the spooky vibes.

Itโ€™s such a joy to see the kidsโ€™ excitement, the laughter, and all the creative costumes around. Honestly, I think Iโ€™m enjoying it as much as they are (maybe even more ๐Ÿ˜„).

Breakfast at DoubleTree by Hilton: A Holiday Treat

One of the joys of being on holiday is waking up and heading to a buffet breakfast โ€“ itโ€™s like a little celebration to start the day. During our recent stay at DoubleTree by Hilton, we indulged in their breakfast buffet, which, although smaller compared to some other places weโ€™ve stayed, still offered a delightful variety to satisfy everyone in the family.

The kids were thrilled with their favourites โ€“ cereals, crispy bacon, sausages, hash browns, and pastries. Watching them excitedly pick out their plates and enjoy their meal made me so happy. For me, a good breakfast sets the tone for the day, and this one didnโ€™t disappoint. It even felt a bit luxurious, with freshly prepared eggs available to order. Though it took a little while to get the eggs just right, the staff were friendly and eager to help, which made the experience pleasant overall.

Every morning, we looked forward to this routine โ€“ sipping coffee while the kids explored the options, from sweet pastries to warm savoury bites. It became a little family tradition during our stay, and I loved seeing the kids embrace it. Traveling isnโ€™t just about the big moments; itโ€™s these little ones that make it special.

Coming back home to โ€œnormalโ€ breakfasts was definitely an adjustment. After all, how do you go from a variety-filled buffet to a quick piece of toast? These moments make me appreciate the joy of travel even more โ€“ from exploring new places to enjoying the simple pleasure of breakfast together.

If youโ€™re staying at a DoubleTree, definitely give their breakfast a try. Itโ€™s not just a meal; itโ€™s a great way to start your holiday mornings on a positive note.

What was available?

  • A selection of cereals
  • Crispy bacon and sausages
  • Hash browns and baked beans
  • Pastries and toast with spreads
  • Fresh fruit and yoghurt
  • Made-to-order eggs
  • Juices, tea, and coffee

For us, breakfast became one of those cherished parts of the day, and it reminded me how much I love traveling with the kids โ€“ watching them grow, love, and enjoy everything that comes with it.
