Hello from Cairns! πŸŒ΄β˜€οΈ

The secret is finally out… we’ve escaped Sydney’s winter and are soaking up the tropical sunshine in beautiful Cairns!

We’re staying in the stunning Palm Cove, and it’s everything we hoped it would be and more. From the moment we arrived, we knew we’d made the right choice. Palm-lined beaches, warm ocean breezes, crystal-clear water and the relaxed tropical atmosphere make it the perfect place to unwind.

There’s something so calming about starting the day with a walk along the beach, listening to the waves and feeling the warmth of the sun on your face instead of Sydney’s chilly winter mornings. The beach here is absolutely beautiful – peaceful, spacious and perfect for slowing down and appreciating the simple things in life.

This holiday isn’t about rushing from one attraction to another or sticking to a packed itinerary. It’s about spending quality time together as a family, making memories and enjoying every moment. Sometimes the best holidays are the ones where you simply slow down, switch off and enjoy each other’s company.

Of course, we have plenty of adventures planned! We’re looking forward to exploring the incredible Great Barrier Reef, taking the scenic journey to Kuranda, wandering through the rainforest, visiting local markets and enjoying the famous Skyrail and heritage railway. We’re also excited to spend a day discovering the charm of Port Douglas, with its relaxed coastal vibe, beautiful beaches and amazing food.

For the kids, every day is a new adventure. Whether it’s spotting colourful fish, building sandcastles, swimming in the resort pool or discovering new places, seeing the excitement through their eyes makes every moment even more special.

One of the biggest highlights is travelling with my parents. Watching three generations laugh, explore and create memories together is something I truly treasure. These are the moments that remind me how fortunate we are to spend this precious time together.

Sometimes life gets so busy that we forget to pause. Holidays like this remind us that happiness isn’t found in being busyβ€”it’s found in sharing meals together, watching sunsets, taking long walks, enjoying good conversations and simply being present with the people we love.

Cairns has already captured our hearts with its tropical beauty, warm weather and relaxed lifestyle. Whether we’re exploring, relaxing by the beach or just enjoying a quiet afternoon together, every day feels like a little slice of paradise.

Here’s to sunshine, family, adventure and making memories that will last a lifetime. We’re looking forward to every moment this beautiful tropical escape has to offer.

Snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef – A Trip to Remember πŸ’™πŸ

Just got back from an unforgettable girls’ trip to Cairns, and I had to share one of the absolute highlights β€” snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef!

It’s been over 10 years since I last did this, and diving back in (literally!) was honestly so refreshing and magical. We had the most perfect day β€” clear blue skies, warm sun on our backs, and calm, crystal-clear water. Couldn’t have asked for better conditions.

We went to two stunning snorkelling spots, each one more breathtaking than the last. The coral was alive with colour and texture β€” from bright purples and oranges to soft pastel pinks. And the fish! So many vibrant, curious little creatures swimming all around us. It felt like we were inside a David Attenborough doco.

We even managed to get a bit too adventurous and ended up a little lost in the open water for a while but found our way back easily.

Honestly, the photos and videos we took don’t even come close to capturing how beautiful it all was. You’ve got to see it with your own eyes to believe it.

If you’re ever heading to Cairns, snorkelling the reef is an absolute must-do. Whether it’s your first time or your tenth, it’s something that sticks with you β€” peaceful, awe-inspiring, and a reminder of just how incredible nature really is.

Already dreaming about going back…

Our Girls’ Getaway at Hilton Cairns – Sunshine, Champagne & So Many Laughs

Just got back from the most unforgettable girls’ trip to Cairns, and I can’t stop thinking about how perfect it wasβ€”especially our stay at the Hilton Cairns.

We booked three rooms for the six of us, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like the perfect little escape from real life. The hotel itself was stunning, right on the water with those dreamy views that make you stop and take it all in. Waking up to the sight of palm trees and the Coral Sea sparkling in the morning sun? Absolutely unreal.

The rooms were gorgeousβ€”spacious, clean, and super comfy, with big windows that made the most of that beautiful Queensland light. Whether we were getting ready for a night out or winding down after a full day of exploring, it felt like our own little slice of paradise.

But what really made the stay so special was the staff. They were friendly, warm, and genuinely helpful the whole way through. They even organised a late check-out for us, which was a lifesaver after one too many celebratory champagnes the night before!

And speaking of celebrationsβ€”one of the girls had her birthday while we were there, and the team at Hilton went above and beyond. When we walked into the room, there was a beautiful birthday cake waiting for us and a bottle of chilled champagne, all arranged so thoughtfully. It made her day, and honestly, it made the rest of us feel pretty spoiled too. Little touches like that really do stick with you.

We spent our days soaking up the sun, doing a bit of sightseeing, and just enjoying each other’s company. It was the kind of trip that fills your cup in all the best waysβ€”laughs, chats, naps, cocktails, and no schedules.

If you’re thinking about booking a stay at Hilton Cairnsβ€”do it. It was the perfect base for our tropical escape, and we couldn’t be more grateful for how well we were looked after.

A big thank you to the Hilton team for making our trip one to remember. We’re already talking about coming back next year!

Why Every Mum Needs a Girls’ Getaway

Just got back from the most amazing girls’ trip to Cairns, and wowβ€”I didn’t realise how much I needed that break until I was in it.

We booked a lovely hotel right near the water, the kind where you wake up to palm trees and sunshine pouring through the curtains. We planned a few excursionsβ€” just enough to feel like we were doing something special. Think reef tours, beach strolls, cocktails by the pool… the good stuff.

Coming from soggy, cold Sydney, stepping into Cairns’ warm tropical weather felt like heaven. No jumpers, no rain, just that beautiful Far North Queensland sunshine that instantly lifts your mood. We were living in our swimmers and sundresses, and honestly, I didn’t miss the layers one bit.

But the best part? The company. There’s something so special about being with your girlsβ€”no pressure, no roles to play, just open chats and loads of laughs. We talked about everything and nothing, stayed up too late, danced like no one was watching, and just enjoyed being ourselves. It’s amazing how much lighter you feel when you’re surrounded by people who really get you.

And that’s why I’ll never stop saying how important these little escapes are. Life is busy, and as mums, partners, workersβ€”we’re always doing something for someone else. But there’s real magic in stepping away for a bit and just being you.

If you’ve been thinking about planning a girls’ tripβ€”do it. Don’t overthink it. You don’t need a massive budget or a long itinerary. Just pick a place, gather your favourite people, and go. The laughs, the chats, the memoriesβ€”it’s all so worth it.

To my beautiful girls, thank you for being exactly what I needed. My heart feels full, my spirit feels light, and I already can’t wait for the next one. πŸ’›πŸŒ΄πŸΉ

Family Fun at Sea World

Our visit to Sea World was everything we’d hoped for and moreβ€”a day filled with laughter, awe, and unforgettable family moments. From thrilling rides to adorable animals, there was something for everyone, and the kids were buzzing with excitement from the moment we walked through the gates.

We kicked off our day at Pirate Ride, and let’s just say it didn’t take long for us to fully embrace the water theme of the park! By the end of the ride, we were absolutely soaking wet, but the laughter and excitement made it all so worth it. It was the perfect way to start the day with a splashβ€”literally!

Next, we headed to the Penguin Show, where we learned so much about these adorable little creatures. Seeing them waddle around and dive gracefully into the water had the kids giggling nonstop. It’s always a treat to watch animals up close, and this was no exception.

The Dolphin Show was an absolute highlight. Watching these intelligent and graceful creatures perform their synchronized jumps and flips left us all in awe. The kids couldn’t stop clapping and cheering, and I loved seeing their eyes light up as the dolphins showed off their incredible skills. It was a wonderful reminder of how amazing marine life is and why we need to protect it.

The Seal Show brought plenty of laughs and excitement. These playful performers had everyone entertained with their tricks and antics. The kids were mesmerised by their energy, and they’re still talking about how clever and funny the seals were.

For our little Paw Patrol fans, the Paw Patrol Show was like stepping into their favourite TV show. Meeting Chase, Marshall, and the gang made their dayβ€”they were starstruck! The interactive elements of the show kept them completely engaged, and I have to admit, I enjoyed it just as much as they did.

Of course, Sea World isn’t just about the showsβ€”it’s also home to some amazing rides. The Storm Coaster had my heart racing, and the kids couldn’t get enough of the gentler options like the Sky Climb and Jet Rescue Junior. They were thrilled to be part of the action, and it was great to see their confidence grow as they tried new things.

We also made sure to visit the Polar Bear Shores and the Shark Bay Exhibit, which added a touch of wonder to our day. The polar bears were so majestic, and watching the sharks glide through the water was both thrilling and calming.

By the end of the day, we were tired but so happy. Sea World isn’t just a theme parkβ€”it’s a place where you can connect with nature, share joy with your family, and create memories that will last a lifetime. As we headed to the Sea World Resort, the kids were already asking when we could go back, and honestly, I couldn’t blame them. Sea World had captured all our hearts.

What’s your favourite memory of Sea World? Let me knowβ€”I’d love to hear your experiences! 😊
