Sunny Adventure at The Neck – Bruny Island

We had such a great time visiting The Neck on Bruny Island! We got lucky with the weather – blue skies, sunshine, and the perfect breeze made the walk even more enjoyable. The many stairs leading to the top might look a bit daunting at first, but the climb is absolutely worth it.

Once we reached the top, we were greeted with the most breathtaking 360° view of the narrow isthmus connecting North and South Bruny. You can see the beach stretch endlessly on both sides – it’s honestly one of the most iconic views in Tasmania.

There were lots of people enjoying the walk, taking photos, and soaking in the view. It’s also a great spot for wildlife lovers – if you visit at the right time, you might even spot fairy penguins coming in at dusk!

Whether you’re a nature lover, photography fan, or just looking for a beautiful spot to stretch your legs, The Neck is a must-visit on Bruny Island.

Bruny Island Ferry Ride – A Memorable Family Adventure

One of the most memorable parts of our Tasmania trip was the ferry ride to Bruny Island with SeaLink. The whole experience felt like the perfect start to a day of exploring. We booked our return car ticket online for around $46, which made things a bit easier—but we still had to wait in the queue for nearly an hour before boarding, as it does get quite busy. A little patience goes a long way here!

As soon as we drove onto the ferry and stepped out of the car, the kids were buzzing with excitement. It felt so different from our usual drives—open air, fresh breeze, and the excitement of heading to an island. The view from the ferry was absolutely stunning—calm blue waters, rolling hills in the distance, and seagulls soaring overhead.

We stood out on the deck, soaking in the peaceful scenery and cool sea air, chatting and taking in the moment. The kids were running from side to side, spotting boats, waving at other passengers, and just enjoying the whole vibe. It was such a wholesome moment for the family.

We were all excited knowing that once we arrived, a full day of island adventures awaited us—beautiful beaches, wildlife, and great food. The ferry ride really set the tone for a fun and relaxed day on Bruny Island.

If you’re visiting Tasmania with family, we highly recommend taking the time to do this ferry trip. It’s not just a way to get to the island—it’s part of the experience!

Snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef – A Trip to Remember 💙🐠

Just got back from an unforgettable girls’ trip to Cairns, and I had to share one of the absolute highlights — snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef!

It’s been over 10 years since I last did this, and diving back in (literally!) was honestly so refreshing and magical. We had the most perfect day — clear blue skies, warm sun on our backs, and calm, crystal-clear water. Couldn’t have asked for better conditions.

We went to two stunning snorkelling spots, each one more breathtaking than the last. The coral was alive with colour and texture — from bright purples and oranges to soft pastel pinks. And the fish! So many vibrant, curious little creatures swimming all around us. It felt like we were inside a David Attenborough doco.

We even managed to get a bit too adventurous and ended up a little lost in the open water for a while but found our way back easily.

Honestly, the photos and videos we took don’t even come close to capturing how beautiful it all was. You’ve got to see it with your own eyes to believe it.

If you’re ever heading to Cairns, snorkelling the reef is an absolute must-do. Whether it’s your first time or your tenth, it’s something that sticks with you — peaceful, awe-inspiring, and a reminder of just how incredible nature really is.

Already dreaming about going back…
