Enjoying Zumba

As I mentioned in my last post, I have joined a gym and every Thursday I look forward to the Zumba class.

Zumba is a Latin-inspired cardio-dance workout that uses music and choreographed steps to form a fitness party atmosphere. Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. The choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo.

As I love dancing, it is the perfect workout for me and I enjoy it so much.

I had heard about Zumba for years but had never joined one; now I am so glad to be going to one.

The first time I went to the class, I was a bit scared as I didn’t know what to expect but one hour in a room with people who were psyched about having a good time and dancing around to high-energy Latin music was a great experience. The class is full of men and women of all ages and sizes. You don’t need any dance experience or skills, only the willingness to enjoy the fun class.

I enjoy the class so much I feel as if the one hour has just gone too fast. I sweat so much that I know my body had good workout. I am still learning so I don’t do all the steps well but that doesn’t matter as I know I will get better with time.

Anyone who is into Zumba, do give me a few tips that was useful to you and those who have never tried one, do join it if you love dancing. You don’t feel like you are exercising and you will be having a great fun workout.

Take care,
M from nepaliaustralian

  1. thankx dear. will be delighted if i get some effective meal plan from you as per my body needs now. nepali way. 🙂

  2. i loved it M. I am loving evry beat of it. and I am doing it on my own at home. the basic line of zumba is to enjoy and sweat out, so i can feel my endorphins kicking in. Ive compiled some good videos from you tube and practice accordingly every alternate day. and can u suggest me what kind of exercises are you doing in gym ? in how many months post CS ? is it safe to do all those crunches ? should i join as well ? me 6 months post op.

    • Zumba is very addictive and good on you for starting to work out. According to doctors here you can work out with supervision after 6 weeks of CS. But I started only after three months. But after 6 months, they say you can do everything. I cycle, run, swim and do some weights at gym. You must do some ab exercise as our ab muscle is very loose and need tightening. I am sure you can find some videos in YouTube.

The most important thing to remember is workout is only 30% and diet is 70%. So please make a meal plan and stick to it. Try to eat healthy. I know it is not easy in Nepal but try your best and I am sure you will see the results in few months. Please never stop exercising and remember the results will come in time. As weight gain, weight loss and tonner body takes time and things won’t happen straight away.

All the best and I am sure we will achieve our goals soon.

Lots of love to your little ones. I am sure two babies are making you very busy but happiest as well . Take care…

  5. So awesome that you are able to do zumba. I’ve always wanted to take an actual class but there have never been any available near me. I guess I’ll just have to stick to the zumba game on the Xbox. 🙂 I’m sure the real thing is better though.

  6. So awesome that you are able to do zumba! I’ve always wanted to take an actual zumba class but there are never any available near me. I guess the Zuma game on a having console will have to do for now. 🙂
