Camden Valley Inn’s Land of Oz

I’m excited to share our recent adventure at Camden Valley Inn’s Land of Oz. This spot is perfect for families, offering a delightful journey down the yellow brick road.

Our journey began with vibrant colours, blooming flowers, and oversized lollipops, creating a truly magical atmosphere. Following the yellow brick road under an arching yellow door, our first stop was the life-sized Tin Man, which was so much fun to see and perfect for photos. Next, we met the Cowardly Lion, who was taller than me. We continued down the road to meet the Scarecrow. As we walked further, we encountered a charming little girl dressed as Dorothy, complete with ruby slippers, which really brought the Wizard of Oz theme to life. Along the way, we were delighted by the intricate details and playful decorations that made us feel like we had stepped right into the beloved storybook.

After exploring, we settled in for breakfast. Be prepared to wait a bit; our breakfast took about 45 minutes to arrive. But the wait wasn’t bad at all—we spent the time exploring and snapping photos. The breakfast was worth it. We loved our meals and coffee, and the kids enjoyed their food too.

One of the highlights was the big outdoor area at the back. It features a large kids’ playground and even a petting area with chickens and goats. The kids had a blast running around and meeting the animals.

Overall, we had a fantastic day out at Camden Valley Inn’s Land of Oz. If you’re in the area, don’t miss the chance to walk down the yellow brick road. This attraction is available until July 31st and is open from 7 AM, seven days a week.

Thanks for watching, and happy adventures!

A Day of Wonder at Taman Budaya Garuda Wisnu Kencana

Our day trip to Taman Budaya Garuda Wisnu Kencana was filled with awe and discovery. To streamline our visit, we purchased tickets online in advance, ensuring a smooth entry through the dedicated fast-track lane—a handy tip for avoiding any last-minute hassles.

The shuttle bus whisked us from the entrance towards the Garuda Wisnu Temple area, where a lively scene of souvenir shops and charming restaurants awaited. An impressive amphitheater hosted hourly shows, included in the ticket, adding cultural flair to our visit.

From there, we opted for a leisurely walk—immersing ourselves in the scenic beauty—towards the main Garuda Wisnu statue. Its towering presence against the backdrop of Denpasar City was simply breathtaking.

Throughout our exploration, the park’s staff were friendly and helpful, providing guidance and answering our queries about the various shows and activities available. We chose to wander on foot, soaking in the architectural marvels and lush landscapes, though a buggy ride option was available for those preferring a quicker ascent.

After a fulfilling day of exploration and cultural immersion, we treated ourselves to ice cream—a perfect end to our memorable visit.

Taman Budaya Garuda Wisnu Kencana stands as a testament to Bali’s rich cultural heritage and artistic prowess. It’s more than just a monumental statue; it’s a gateway to understanding and appreciating the island’s vibrant traditions and natural beauty—a must-visit destination for travellers seeking to delve deeper into Bali’s cultural tapestry.

Introducing Nepal Bhasa Bites

Hello everyone,

I am starting a series of posts on learning Nepal Bhasa called Nepal Bhasa Bites.

Nepal Bhasa, also known as Newari, is the language of the Newar people, the indigenous inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. The language has a rich history and deep cultural significance, reflecting the heritage and identity of the Newar community.

I cherished learning this language from my grandmother during my childhood. However, after moving to Australia, my proficiency in Nepal Bhasa has waned over the years due to a lack of practice. I’ve decided to compile some Nepal Bhasa resources here for anyone interested.
