Like everything else about my life, AS got a shock when he first moved to Australia and saw that I have a full drawer full of sun glasses. I always thought it is normal to own a few pairs as fashion changes and you do want to buy new ones now and then. Unlike other things they don’t go old or small was my explanation to why I own so many pairs. I do agree I wear some more often than others but why should I throw away a good pair of sunnies unless it is broken.
Sunglasses are an essential tool in safeguarding the health of your eyes and the surrounding tissues and at the same time, they are a great fashion statement. I always thought it is normal to travel with a few pairs of sunnies as they are much more than a fashion accessory. As I need different shoes and bags to match different dresses, I need different pairs of sunnies to go with my different outfits. That brings me to my questions,
How many pairs of sunnies do you have?
Do you have ones for certain seasons?
Do you see them as a part of your style or as mostly functional?
Do you change them according to your outfit?
I think I have between 15- 20 pairs but someday I feel that none of them go with my outfit. Looking at my sunnies now, I can see that I have preference for oversized sunniness and aviators.
Normally I leave one in the car all the time. Some of them I share with AS as they are unisex. The oversized ones are my favourite in summer.
The next one I want is the Prada Minimal Baroque Sunglasses. Don’t they just look so awesome and chic (hint hint my dear husband). I will rock it :). Mimco tortoiseshell cat-eye sunglasses are awesome as well.
Back to work this wet and cold Monday morning and counting days to go to Nepal 🙂

I’d want to own a second pair that I can leave in my car. I think I’d be content with two pairs. (I’m not a shoe/chocolates/sunnies/bags fanatic. Am I a weird girl? But I love dresses and belts, and compliments! That should make me normal 😉 ) If I wear glasses too long, they start hurting my ears! Any tips?
I do like oversized glasses but they look too big on my face so I have to hunt for smaller ones. They look flattering too.
Ohoo I had that problem before with some. These days I get ones with plastic nose stand and they seemed to be better that metal frame with rubber stand. I think you just get used to over sized one after a while 🙂
I love your sunnies collection. Currently I have one pair, which are broken 😦 I lost my other pair last week…Normally I have 2 pairs, but I like the idea of having more now just in case!

I’ve never heard them called ‘sunnies’ before! I love it!
I have one pair, but I rarely wear them because I’m always in my glasses. I need to get prescription sunglasses but I always put it off because expensive.
I just realised that sunnies is such an Australian word :). Prescription sunglasses sounds like and excellent idea. In Australian, it is covered by your private health insurance.
I own now trusty pair of Rayban Wayfarers. I’ve been eyeing the Prada Minimal Baroque for a while too. They look sooo chic!

You have very good taste in sunglasses! I also love oversized sunnies too, especially in tortoiseshell.. I literally have owned dozens of pairs of sunnies, both cheap and expensive, all either lost, stolen or broken which is now I only have ONE ten dollar pair which are black oversized… I do envy your collection though 🙂
