Morning person !!!

Rise and shine, fellow early birds! Mornings are my jam, and I love kicking off my day with a burst of energy. Whether it’s a weekday or the weekend, you’ll find me up and at between 5:30 and 6:30 am, ready to conquer the day.

First things first: making my bed is non-negotiable. It sets the tone for a productive day ahead and gives me an instant sense of accomplishment. Plus, there’s something oddly satisfying about straightening those sheets and fluffing those pillows!

Then, it’s time to squeeze in some exercise – a weekday ritual that keeps me feeling strong and energised. Whether it’s a brisk morning walk or a HIIT session in the park, getting the heart pumping is the perfect way to jumpstart my day.

Weekends are a whole different ball game. By the time the kids are up and about, I’ve already crushed my workout and tackled a few household chores. It’s pure bliss having extra time to bond with the family and enjoy leisurely mornings together. Pancake breakfasts, cosy pajama parties, and impromptu dance-offs in the kitchen – you name it, we do it!

Of course, every yin has its yang – and for me, it’s the early bedtime struggle. I’m all about that beauty sleep, aiming to hit the hay by 9 pm to ensure I’m bright-eyed and bushy-tailed the next morning. But hey, sometimes social catch up or a late-night movie marathon with the hubby throws off my schedule – and that’s okay too!

In my household, I’m the resident early riser, while AS and Chhora prefer to burn the midnight oil. But Chhori? She’s my little early bird buddy, greeting the day with a stack of books and a heart full of curiosity. It warms my heart to see her embrace the joy of the mornings, and I hope she carries this love life-long. Here’s to starting each day with a smile and a whole lot of sunshine!

The perk of waking up early is that you get to enjoy the beautiful sunrise. I even captured this mesmerising video of one last week!

There’s something truly magical about witnessing the world wake up, bathed in the soft hues of dawn. It sets a serene tone for the day ahead and fills me with gratitude.

How about you? Are you an early riser, or do you thrive in the late-night hours? Let me know your morning routine!

Exercise as a Lifelong Journey

Move your body! It’s the mantra I’ve lived by since childhood, thanks to my dad’s dedication to fitness. Growing up watching him hit the gym daily instilled in me the importance of staying active. Even my brother jumped on the fitness train early, sporting a ripped physique by the age of 18! Inspired by my family’s example, I started my own exercise routine at the age of 10, beginning with morning skipping sessions that continued for years.

Fast forward to today, and exercise is still a vital part of my life. From hitting the gym to swimming during the summer months, I’ve explored various forms of physical activity. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve come to realise that health isn’t just about being skinny; it’s about building muscle, eating well, and prioritising longevity.

My current routine includes three HIIT workouts per week, long runs or walks on weekends, and daily 5km walks. And this June, I’ve challenged myself to exercise every single day, documenting my journey on my TikTok account. Despite the occasional struggle to roll out of bed in the morning, the sense of accomplishment after completing a workout is unparalleled. I’m addicted to that feeling!

Chhori has recently joined my fitness journey, and I couldn’t be more proud! She’s been hitting the treadmill for 30 minutes or more every day, showcasing an incredible level of dedication and commitment at such a young age. Witnessing her enthusiasm for staying active fills me with immense pride, and I hope this becomes a regular part of her lifestyle as she grows older. It’s moments like these that remind me of the importance of setting a positive example within the family.

So, how do you keep yourself active? What motivates you to stay on track with your fitness goals? Let’s inspire each other to keep moving and embrace the joy of exercise!

Hair story

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had thin, fine hair. I always envied people with long, thick, luscious locks. So, when I got pregnant with my kids, I fervently wished they would inherit better hair than mine. Thankfully, both of them got their dad’s amazing hair genes!

AS has the most beautiful, thick, black hair. So far, he’s had no problems with hair fall and not a single strand of grey. His hair is just as perfect as it can be!

Chhori has inherited her dad’s long, thick, straight hair. It grows so fast! When she was a baby with short hair, it used to stand up like a punk rock style, even without any product. I had to put headbands and cute clips on her just so people would know she was a girl.

Now, we keep cutting it, but it just keeps growing back thicker and longer. I’m so happy for her because she’ll have so many style options as she grows up and won’t have to worry about thin hair like I do.

Chhora was born with thick, curly hair. We let it grow until he was three, and on his third birthday, we took a photo of his beautiful natural curls full of volume. But as he grew, it became harder to manage all the knots, and shower time turned into a big ordeal. So, we decided to cut it before he turned four. Now he has short hair, but it’s still so thick and lovely!

Hair has always been a bit of a struggle for me, but seeing my kids with their fabulous hair makes me so happy. How about you? What kind of hair do you have? If you have thin hair like mine, how do you manage it? Share your tips and stories! 😊💇‍♀️💇‍♂️

Chhora said !!!

So, the other day, Chhora asked me how old he would be tomorrow. I said, “Four.” Then he asked, “What about the day after tomorrow?” Again, I said, “Four.” He was relentless—”What about next week?” I replied, “Still four, until June 14.”

He was visibly upset, wondering why he’s always four years old and not five like his friends. This led to a mini tantrum about the unfairness of being perpetually four.

It reminded me of a similar conversation I had with Chhori when she was his age. She too went through this phase of wanting to grow up as quickly as possible, and it made me realize that all kids seem to go through this at some point.

Isn’t it funny how kids are in such a hurry to grow up? They don’t understand that we parents would sometimes love to pause time and keep them small for just a little longer.

Have you ever experienced this with your little ones, them wanting to grow up so fast? How do you handle it? I’d love to hear your stories!

One-Word Family Fun!

I love getting the whole family involved in everything, especially sparking fun conversations. The other day, I stumbled upon this trending idea where kids describe their parents in a single word, and I thought, “Why not give it a go?”

So, I gathered everyone around and asked them to describe each family member in just one word. Here’s how it went down:

WhoFor MeFor ASFor ChhoriFor Chhora
MeLoveEmpatheticRadiant
ASBeautifulHappyCheeky
ChhoriBeautifulSmartPowerranger
ChhoraNice SmartPrincess

The whole conversation was a blast! I loved how it turned into a whirlwind of positive and emotional feelings. 😄💬

Have you ever done something like this with your family? Share any other fun games you enjoy! And how would you describe yourself in just one word? Let me know in the comments below! 🌟🎉
