In short, I am IT Business Analyst by profession , traveller by passion , writer by hobby and fashionista at heart.
My name is M and I am a Nepalese born Australian living in Sydney, Australia. I love traveling, photography, writing, fashion and Facebook. I work as an IT Business Analyst .
This blog is a good way for me to share my experience about travel, culture, marriage etc. And to glean new ideas from what I read and people I meet on this blogosphere.
I am sure there are many people out there who were born and brought up in the east and are now living in the west. In this space, I want to share my own experience how living in different countries with vast cultural differences made me feel.
I married (June 2011) a Nepali guy (a friend from high school), AS. I had never dreamed how marriage can change a person. I love all the changes but there are lots of things that I want to share about being married in Nepali culture and expectation afterwards. I have read many blogs of intercultural marriage and their experience. In addition, I always thought I wouldn’t have that kind of experience as I lived in Nepal for more than a decade and thought that I knew a lot about our culture but I was so wrong! I went through lots of different phases before, during and after wedding which made me wonder that may be it is not just about culture but that all this shock and surprises come with the institution of marriage. No matter, whether you know the culture or not there still are so many things that happened after marriage that no one can be a 100% prepared for all of it. I don’t know if my feelings would have been different if I was living in Nepal for my whole life but living in Australia for more than a decade and getting married to a man with very traditional family is a very different experience.
On 20 February 2015, we welcomed our beautiful daughter(chhori) and now I also share my motherhood journey here 🙂
