Fourteen years ago, we began this journey with nothing but love and hope, unsure of where life would take us. But hand in hand, we’ve built something truly beautiful.
Together, we’ve created a life I once only dreamed of — filled with laughter, love, our amazing kids, and unforgettable memories from travelling the world. Every moment with you has been a treasure I hold close to my heart.
Thank you for being the calm in my chaos, the strength behind my dreams, and the reason even the most ordinary days feel extraordinary. Your hard work, unwavering love, and constant support mean the world to me.
You’ve helped me believe in possibilities, turn dreams into reality, and embrace every part of this journey. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to grow, laugh, cry, and dance through life with.
Here’s to us — our little world, the love we’ve nurtured, and all the adventures still waiting for us.
I honestly can’t believe it – my little Chhora is six! It feels like I blinked and somehow, years just flew by. I still remember the moment I found out I was pregnant with him like it was yesterday. And now, here he is – cheeky, clever, and full of life, with a smile that melts my heart every single day.
It’s wild to think that my Chhori is already ten, and now Chhora has hit six. The way they’re growing makes time feel like it’s running in fast-forward. As a parent, the days can feel long, but the years? They just disappear in the blink of an eye.
Chhora has always been my little ball of energy – full of curiosity, full of sass, and full of love. He’s obsessed with dinosaurs (he can name more than I ever knew existed!) and superheroes – especially the ones with capes and a strong sense of justice. Every night, without fail, he insists on reading multiple books before bed. I secretly love it – I hope his love for stories stays with him forever.
This year, he started kindergarten, and it’s been such a joy watching him fall in love with school. He comes home with messy hair, new stories, and that mischievous sparkle in his eyes – I just know he’s the cheeky one in the class, always ready with a joke or a giggle.
As a mum, I just want the world for him – good health, a kind heart, big dreams, and a life full of joy and adventure. Watching him grow is the most beautiful, bittersweet thing. I want to freeze these moments and hold onto them forever.
So today, we celebrate our boy. My sunshine. My little superhero. My dinosaur-loving bookworm.
A Birthday Letter to My Six-Year-Old Son
Dear Chhora,
Happy 6th birthday, my beautiful boy.
It feels like just yesterday I held you in my arms for the very first time – so small, so new, so perfect. And now, here you are, six years old, with a laugh that fills the house and a heart full of love.
You are kind, smart, cheeky, and curious. You ask the funniest questions, tell the best stories, and always remind me to slow down and enjoy the little things. You make our lives brighter just by being you.
Keep loving your dinosaurs, keep being brave like your favourite superheroes, and never stop reading all those books you love. I hope school brings you joy, new friends, and a world of exciting discoveries.
I’m so proud to be your mum. You amaze me every day, and I feel so lucky to watch you grow.
No matter how big you get, you’ll always be my baby boy.
Just got back from the most unforgettable girls’ trip to Cairns, and I can’t stop thinking about how perfect it was—especially our stay at the Hilton Cairns.
We booked three rooms for the six of us, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like the perfect little escape from real life. The hotel itself was stunning, right on the water with those dreamy views that make you stop and take it all in. Waking up to the sight of palm trees and the Coral Sea sparkling in the morning sun? Absolutely unreal.
The rooms were gorgeous—spacious, clean, and super comfy, with big windows that made the most of that beautiful Queensland light. Whether we were getting ready for a night out or winding down after a full day of exploring, it felt like our own little slice of paradise.
But what really made the stay so special was the staff. They were friendly, warm, and genuinely helpful the whole way through. They even organised a late check-out for us, which was a lifesaver after one too many celebratory champagnes the night before!
And speaking of celebrations—one of the girls had her birthday while we were there, and the team at Hilton went above and beyond. When we walked into the room, there was a beautiful birthday cake waiting for us and a bottle of chilled champagne, all arranged so thoughtfully. It made her day, and honestly, it made the rest of us feel pretty spoiled too. Little touches like that really do stick with you.
We spent our days soaking up the sun, doing a bit of sightseeing, and just enjoying each other’s company. It was the kind of trip that fills your cup in all the best ways—laughs, chats, naps, cocktails, and no schedules.
If you’re thinking about booking a stay at Hilton Cairns—do it. It was the perfect base for our tropical escape, and we couldn’t be more grateful for how well we were looked after.
A big thank you to the Hilton team for making our trip one to remember. We’re already talking about coming back next year!
As I slowly woke, the delightful aroma of a freshly cooked breakfast wafted through the house. My husband and the kids were up to something – the joyful whispers and excited giggles were a giveaway. Moments later, they burst into the room with a tray – a beautiful spread of golden toast, perfectly cooked eggs, grilled halloumi, sautéed mushrooms, and crispy hash browns. My heart melted, not just at the sight of the delicious feast but at the love they had poured into making it.
But the surprises didn’t end there. My little ones eagerly handed me the gifts they had made and chosen with so much love. Gorgeous handwritten cards, a beautifully designed pen and notepad – treasures from school that I would forever cherish. And from my husband, a pair of soft, cosy UGGs and a stylish wallet – practical and thoughtful, just like him.
As I sipped my warm coffee and enjoyed the lovingly prepared breakfast in bed, I felt a deep sense of gratitude. Mother’s Day is more than the gifts or the perfect breakfast – it’s about those precious moments when love is served with a smile, and memories are made in the simplest of ways.
This Mother’s Day was a reminder that sometimes, the best gifts are the ones that touch the heart, wrapped in the laughter of loved ones and sealed with a hug.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day too. I feel so blessed and incredibly lucky to be the mum of these two beautiful kids.
In Nepal, Mother’s Day — known as “Aama ko Mukh Herne Din” (आमाको मुख हेर्ने दिन) — is a beautiful occasion dedicated to honouring mothers and mother figures. It is celebrated by showing love and appreciation, often through gifts, special meals, and simply spending time together. In Nepalese tradition, this day is as important as birthdays or major festivals, with families coming together to express their gratitude for everything mothers do.
Even though I now live in Australia, I make it a priority to celebrate Nepali Mother’s Day with my children. It’s important to me that they grow up connected to their heritage, understanding the traditions and values I was raised with. Sharing these customs helps them not only learn about their roots but also appreciate the universal value of love, respect, and gratitude towards parents.
We celebrated yesterday with the traditional tika and sagun ritual, a meaningful part of Nepali culture that honours mothers with blessings and auspicious offerings. It was so lovely to see both my kids excited and eager to follow the tradition themselves. They carefully performed the puja, applying tika and offering sagun with genuine enthusiasm, which made the day even more special for me. Passing on these rituals not only connects them to our roots but also helps them understand the significance of respect, love, and family bonding in our culture — even while living here in Australia. It’s these moments that remind me how important it is to keep our heritage alive across generations, no matter where we are.
Happy Aama ko Mukh Herne Din to all the wonderful mums out there — near or far!
