Recently, for our anniversary, we decided to celebrate with a delightful lunch at Love Fish in Barangaroo. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, setting the perfect backdrop for our special day, and stepping into the restaurant, we were instantly captivated by the inviting ambiance.
We opted for their set menu, and our culinary journey began with a delightful array of starters. We indulged in freshly baked focaccia, followed by tuna crudo adorned with chili, lime, lemongrass, and betel leaf. The combination of flavours was exquisite, especially the unique twist with the betel leaf. Alongside, we enjoyed salt and pepper local calamari with chorizo powder and wasabi mayo, which added a delightful kick to the dish.
Moving on to the mains, we savoured a grilled barramundi fillet that was cooked to perfection, accompanied by a creamy Blue swimmer crab risotto. The risotto, in particular, stood out with its rich, comforting flavours—I couldn’t help but savour every bite.
By this point, we were already quite satisfied, but eager dug into the pear and almond frangipane tarte tatin served with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. The sweetness of the tarte tatin paired wonderfully with the coolness of the ice cream, creating a heavenly combination that was the perfect conclusion to our meal.
What touched us deeply was the thoughtful gesture of adding sparkles to our dessert, a heartwarming nod to our anniversary celebration. It was these little touches of hospitality that truly enhanced our experience at Love Fish.
Overall, we were thoroughly impressed by the impeccable food quality, the inviting ambiance, and the attentive service at Love Fish. It was a experience that exceeded our expectations and made our anniversary truly special. We can’t wait to return and create more memories at this wonderful establishment.
I am starting a series of posts on learning Nepal Bhasa called Nepal Bhasa Bites.
Nepal Bhasa, also known as Newari, is the language of the Newar people, the indigenous inhabitants of the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. The language has a rich history and deep cultural significance, reflecting the heritage and identity of the Newar community.
I cherished learning this language from my grandmother during my childhood. However, after moving to Australia, my proficiency in Nepal Bhasa has waned over the years due to a lack of practice. I’ve decided to compile some Nepal Bhasa resources here for anyone interested.

During our recent holiday in Bali, we had the pleasure of staying at the Bintang Bali Resort, and we absolutely loved it. Nestled in more than six hectares of tropical gardens, this beachfront property in the heart of Kuta offers a delightful blend of contemporary Balinese architecture and modern amenities.
From the moment we arrived, I was captivated by the resort’s architecture, which truly embodies the Balinese vibe. Our room was spacious and overlooked the lush backyard garden, providing a serene spot to relax and unwind. Each room is equipped with a balcony, tea and coffee making facilities, a safe deposit box, and free Wi-Fi, ensuring a comfortable stay.
One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. Every morning, we were treated to a vast array of options, including many Balinese delicacies that we were excited to try. The variety was impressive, and it was a delightful way to start our day.
The resort’s facilities are extensive and cater to all ages. The huge swimming pool, complete with a cascading waterfall and Jacuzzi, quickly became a family favourite. Our kids enjoyed the separate pool area designed just for them, while we appreciated the swim-up bar and the health club and sauna.
The beach restaurant and spa were excellent, and we dined at the resort’s restaurant several times. The food was amazing, with a good mix of local and international dishes. They even serve some Indian food at breakfast, which was a pleasant surprise. For those seeking more variety, there are many restaurants nearby, as well as the Discovery Shopping Mall and Lippo Mall Kuta within walking distance.
We spent our days exploring Bali but always looked forward to returning to the resort for a late swim and dinner by the pool. It was perfect for our family, allowing us to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The staff at Bintang Bali Resort were friendly and accommodating, enhancing our overall experience. While the service wasn’t exceptional, it was certainly good and met our needs.
If you’re planning a trip to Bali with kids, I highly recommend Bintang Bali Resort. Its prime location, extensive facilities, and family-friendly atmosphere make it one of the best places to stay in Kuta. We look forward to returning on our next Bali adventure!
I can’t believe it has already been 13 years since we got married! It feels like just yesterday. Please read Our Story to learn more about us.
When I first met him in high school, I never imagined that one day he would be my husband and the wonderful father to our amazing daughter.
If you have been following my blog, you know that AS and I are different in so many ways. We are complete opposites; we see things differently, do things differently, and think differently. There are times when he drives me crazy and vice versa, but when we come together, something just clicks. We make each other laugh, and we both know how to bring out the best in each other.
To my dear husband,
Thirteen years ago today, we became husband and wife. We didn’t know where we were heading back then, but we knew for sure that we belonged together. And now, over a decade later, I can say with absolute certainty that the past thirteen years have been the most magical of my entire life.
They say that life is beautiful when you are surrounded by amazing people. I couldn’t agree more, because I have been lucky enough to have a wonderful man by my side on this incredible journey.
So today, I’d like to say a massive thank you for being an amazing, wonderful, handsome, and all-around awesome husband. You make my life so much better. You support me, make me laugh, make me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world, and make me believe in myself. Together, I know we can get through anything!
Our lives have changed so much now that we are parents, but every day has been an adventure that I wouldn’t trade for the world. You are a great friend, husband, and my rock.
I love watching you play with our kids so patiently. I love it when you tell them stories and put them to bed. You are everything I could wish for in my life.
Thank you for believing in me and for helping me believe in myself. You are a phenomenal dad and an even better husband. I am looking forward to so many more anniversaries with you.
All the words in the world couldn’t even begin to describe how deeply I am in love with you. You are not only my love, but my soul. I love you more than words can say.
I am glad we have made it this far, and I am sure we will go even further as we continue this journey we started together years ago. Happy 13th Anniversary!
