Vivid Nights in Sydney – Lights, Laughs & City Love

If you’re in Sydney and haven’t experienced Vivid Sydney 2025 yet, you’re missing out on something truly special. I went with my friend the other night, and it was an unforgettable way to see our city in a whole new light—literally.

Kicking off our night at Circular Quay with the Opera House lit up by David McDiarmid’s cool “Kiss of Light” projections—talk about celebrating love and inclusion! Plus, the Harbour Bridge looked amazing nearby, making it the perfect start to our adventure.

From there, we hopped on a ferry to Barangaroo, exploring the installations along the way. Barangaroo Reserve was a highlight, boasting a concentration of light features that felt like stepping into a dream. The interactive displays and immersive experiences made it a standout spot.

We continued our journey through Darling Harbour, where the water reflected the dazzling lights, creating a mesmerising scene. The atmosphere was electric, with live performances and a buzz of excitement in the air.

This year’s theme, “Dream”, invites everyone to explore the boundaries between reality and imagination. With over 42 large-scale projections and installations spread across five festival zones—including The Rocks, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour, The Goods Line, and Martin Place—there’s something to captivate every visitor.

Notably, the Light Walk is completely free, making it accessible for all to enjoy the stunning displays after 6pm each night.

Vivid Sydney 2025 runs until Saturday, June 14, so there’s still time to immerse yourself in this luminous celebration. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s a fantastic way to experience the city’s creativity and community spirit.

So grab a family or friends, bundle up, and let the lights guide your night.

Note: For more details on installations, food options, and event schedules, check out the official Vivid Sydney website.

Exploring Tanah Lot Temple: A Magical Bali Experience

Tanah Lot Temple holds a special place in our hearts after our recent trip to Bali. It’s one of those places you have to plan for, especially considering the tides—high tide can literally cut off access to the temple! So, we kept a close eye on the website to make sure we timed our visit perfectly.

Imagine an ancient Hindu shrine perched dramatically on a rocky outcrop, surrounded by crashing waves and bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun—that’s Tanah Lot Temple. It’s not just a temple; it’s a breathtaking spectacle, offering some of the most stunning sunset views in Bali. We were in awe of its cultural significance and natural beauty, making it an experience we’ll never forget.

Walking across the beach during low tide to reach the temple was an adventure in itself. The waves crashing against the rocks added to the mystical atmosphere, creating a sense of reverence and wonder. It’s no wonder Tanah Lot is considered one of Bali’s most iconic and picturesque temples!

The area around Tanah Lot is bustling with activity, yet it retains a serene and spiritual ambiance. We enjoyed exploring the shops filled with local crafts, savouring delicious Balinese cuisine at the nearby restaurants, and even catching some traditional cultural performances.

For our kids, the highlight was definitely the sea area where the waves crashed against the rocks. They had a blast watching the waves and exploring the sandy shores around the temple. As for me, I loved soaking in the vibe—the blend of spirituality, natural beauty, and vibrant culture that defines Tanah Lot.

Whether you’re a photographer looking to capture the perfect sunset shot, a traveller seeking spiritual enlightenment, or a family wanting to experience Bali’s rich heritage, Tanah Lot Temple offers something for everyone. It’s a place where nature and culture converge, leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime. We can’t wait to visit again and immerse ourselves in the magic of Tanah Lot!

A Day of Wonder at Taman Budaya Garuda Wisnu Kencana

Our day trip to Taman Budaya Garuda Wisnu Kencana was filled with awe and discovery. To streamline our visit, we purchased tickets online in advance, ensuring a smooth entry through the dedicated fast-track lane—a handy tip for avoiding any last-minute hassles.

The shuttle bus whisked us from the entrance towards the Garuda Wisnu Temple area, where a lively scene of souvenir shops and charming restaurants awaited. An impressive amphitheater hosted hourly shows, included in the ticket, adding cultural flair to our visit.

From there, we opted for a leisurely walk—immersing ourselves in the scenic beauty—towards the main Garuda Wisnu statue. Its towering presence against the backdrop of Denpasar City was simply breathtaking.

Throughout our exploration, the park’s staff were friendly and helpful, providing guidance and answering our queries about the various shows and activities available. We chose to wander on foot, soaking in the architectural marvels and lush landscapes, though a buggy ride option was available for those preferring a quicker ascent.

After a fulfilling day of exploration and cultural immersion, we treated ourselves to ice cream—a perfect end to our memorable visit.

Taman Budaya Garuda Wisnu Kencana stands as a testament to Bali’s rich cultural heritage and artistic prowess. It’s more than just a monumental statue; it’s a gateway to understanding and appreciating the island’s vibrant traditions and natural beauty—a must-visit destination for travellers seeking to delve deeper into Bali’s cultural tapestry.

Bintang Bali Resort, Kuta

During our recent holiday in Bali, we had the pleasure of staying at the Bintang Bali Resort, and we absolutely loved it. Nestled in more than six hectares of tropical gardens, this beachfront property in the heart of Kuta offers a delightful blend of contemporary Balinese architecture and modern amenities.

From the moment we arrived, I was captivated by the resort’s architecture, which truly embodies the Balinese vibe. Our room was spacious and overlooked the lush backyard garden, providing a serene spot to relax and unwind. Each room is equipped with a balcony, tea and coffee making facilities, a safe deposit box, and free Wi-Fi, ensuring a comfortable stay.

One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. Every morning, we were treated to a vast array of options, including many Balinese delicacies that we were excited to try. The variety was impressive, and it was a delightful way to start our day.

The resort’s facilities are extensive and cater to all ages. The huge swimming pool, complete with a cascading waterfall and Jacuzzi, quickly became a family favourite. Our kids enjoyed the separate pool area designed just for them, while we appreciated the swim-up bar and the health club and sauna.

The beach restaurant and spa were excellent, and we dined at the resort’s restaurant several times. The food was amazing, with a good mix of local and international dishes. They even serve some Indian food at breakfast, which was a pleasant surprise. For those seeking more variety, there are many restaurants nearby, as well as the Discovery Shopping Mall and Lippo Mall Kuta within walking distance.

We spent our days exploring Bali but always looked forward to returning to the resort for a late swim and dinner by the pool. It was perfect for our family, allowing us to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The staff at Bintang Bali Resort were friendly and accommodating, enhancing our overall experience. While the service wasn’t exceptional, it was certainly good and met our needs.

If you’re planning a trip to Bali with kids, I highly recommend Bintang Bali Resort. Its prime location, extensive facilities, and family-friendly atmosphere make it one of the best places to stay in Kuta. We look forward to returning on our next Bali adventure!
