Anniversary Lunch at Love Fish, Barangaroo

Recently, for our anniversary, we decided to celebrate with a delightful lunch at Love Fish in Barangaroo. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, setting the perfect backdrop for our special day, and stepping into the restaurant, we were instantly captivated by the inviting ambiance.

We opted for their set menu, and our culinary journey began with a delightful array of starters. We indulged in freshly baked focaccia, followed by tuna crudo adorned with chili, lime, lemongrass, and betel leaf. The combination of flavours was exquisite, especially the unique twist with the betel leaf. Alongside, we enjoyed salt and pepper local calamari with chorizo powder and wasabi mayo, which added a delightful kick to the dish.

Moving on to the mains, we savoured a grilled barramundi fillet that was cooked to perfection, accompanied by a creamy Blue swimmer crab risotto. The risotto, in particular, stood out with its rich, comforting flavours—I couldn’t help but savour every bite.

By this point, we were already quite satisfied, but eager dug into the pear and almond frangipane tarte tatin served with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. The sweetness of the tarte tatin paired wonderfully with the coolness of the ice cream, creating a heavenly combination that was the perfect conclusion to our meal.

What touched us deeply was the thoughtful gesture of adding sparkles to our dessert, a heartwarming nod to our anniversary celebration. It was these little touches of hospitality that truly enhanced our experience at Love Fish.

Overall, we were thoroughly impressed by the impeccable food quality, the inviting ambiance, and the attentive service at Love Fish. It was a experience that exceeded our expectations and made our anniversary truly special. We can’t wait to return and create more memories at this wonderful establishment.

Chhori Said : Peace and quiet!

Get ready for some sass straight from the mouth of Chhori, our little firecracker! She’s nine now, and trust me, she knows more than enough to keep us on our toes. So, brace yourselves for her witty retorts and clever comebacks as we dive into another edition of “What Chhori Said.”

Picture this: the whole gang chilling in the living room, soaking up some family time. My hubby, bless his heart, leans over to me with those loving eyes and whispers those three magic words, “I love you.” Classic, right? But before I could bask in the romance, our daughter, the one and only Chhori, throws in her two cents from across the room.

She gives us this look, all knowing and mischievous, and goes, “Oh, but you’re forgetting something, Papa. You also crave peace and quiet, and let’s face it, you’re never getting that around here!”

And just like that, she drops the mic at nine years old! Can you believe the sass on this kid? But hey, that’s the beauty of parenting in the modern age, where even the little ones come armed with enough wit to rival a stand-up comedian. 😊

Quick summary of last 5 years

Hello everyone,

Thank you to everyone who has rediscovered my blog! Please leave a comment to say hello and encourage me.

A lot has happened in the world and in my life over the past five years. Just before COVID turned everything upside down, we welcomed a beautiful new addition to our family on 14 July 2019—our son, who I’ll refer to as Chhora, which means “son” in Nepali.

Now, we’re a family of four living our lives here in Sydney, Australia.

Can you believe it? Chhori is 9 years old already! Time sure flies. She’s in Year 4 now and absolutely loves swimming, playing the piano and glockenspiel, singing, and dancing around like there’s no tomorrow. Just like all the kids these days, she’s dreaming of becoming a social media creator one day. She reckons I’m from the “older generation” and never lets me forget it!

I feel incredibly blessed to have her in my life. Growing up, I always wished for a sister, and now I get to experience that special bond with her. She’s my official BFF, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

AS and I are riding the wild rollercoaster of parenting two incredible, beautiful kids. They’re strong-willed and cheeky, but they know how to turn on the charm when it suits them! You’ll definitely hear a lot about our adventures with Chhori and Chhora on this blog.

Stay tuned for the fun and chaos!

We’ve moved house once during this time, travelled to a few places, and made heaps of memories that I hope to share with you all here.

I’m still working in the IT industry, doing my best to keep up with its fast-paced nature.

On a personal note, I feel like I’ve grown so much over the last five years. I’ve learned to appreciate life more, cherish the small things, and be grateful for everything I have.

Whether it’s my age or my life experiences, I find myself content with this beautiful life and plan to live every moment to the fullest.

Of course, like everyone, I have my good days and bad days, but I’m learning not to get too down on the bad ones or too carried away on the good ones.

Cheers to living in the moment!

Another year has gone by so quickly and our dear Chhori is turning 4 today.

Dear Chhori,

The day you were born was the greatest moment of our life. We never knew we could love something so tiny so much, but the day you came into our life we were overwhelmed by all the love we had for you.

Watching you grow up has been such a joy, and we know that only greatness lies ahead for you. May your birthday be just as spectacular as you are.

Happy 4th birthday sweetheart!
