I am getting old

For the last two weeks or so I have been having some pain in the right side of my back. It stared on the day of my nephew’s birthday and wasn’t too frequent for a week but then suddenly it has been painful all the time for a week now.

I went to the doctor last week to see if he can do anything. He examined me and told me to see if it gets better in time, gave me some painkillers and asked me to put a heat pack on it. I always want a miracle when I visit the doctor and was hugely disappointed when the pain continued even after the visit.

So now I am not able to do a fast walk during my lunch break and I haven’t swum for a week. On top of that I am avoiding high heel shoes and that was a big deal for me.

Anyway looks like my age is catching up with me and for the time being I need to be extra careful with my back.

Hope everyone had a great week.

Take care ,

  1. Welcome to my world! Neck and back problems going on decades now. Yep – I’m THAT old! :-/

    • I am joining your club as well now. H ope it will get better for both of us. Take care…

      • Well physio exercises have been a lifesaver (stopped me having to miss any days of working due to agonising pain) and now I exercise generally pretty heftily to build up compensating strength so I don’t tax the weak spots. Overall, I’d say it was a lot better than it used to be 🙂

  2. Me, too! My knees are all achy now and my right one gave out a few days ago. Argh! Baby is on the verge of running so it’s bad timing. Boooooo! Hope you feel better soon. Like others have said, yoga and stretching really help my back. 😀

  3. I’m sorry about your back – hopefully you’ll soon be pain free.

  4. This is one thing on your blog I wish I couldn’t relate to 😦
Our body is not designed to sit on a chair for long hours, but that’s our work! Take frequent breaks.

  5. Have you tried yoga or the chiropractor?

  6. Sorry to hear about the back pain. Take it easy as it sounds like a temporary thing that will pass with rest. Stay strong and positive! X

  7. I read your blog and was about to click like (hahah). I don’t think you are old so fast(haahaha) go for some yoga, take care of your health.

  8. Swimming is good for the back side, dont disturp it.

  9. I hope it gets better very soon. Aren’t you trying yoga poses to strengthen back. Specially lower back. There are some good videos in YouTube . If you can, then I suggest you not to wear heels frequently as it will hurt gradually . I myself have suffered so u avoided. Take care.

  10. Do hope the pain has eased for you now. Thank you for stopping by my blog and liking it.

  11. Oh dear! Take care of yourself and hope it gets better soon!

  12. So funny! (I know you don’t think so but you are quite young!!) So sorry about your pains, though! I have used heating pads then cold packs, on many occasions, It also is so nice to have a hot bath or shower to get all the ‘creaks,’ out! Smiles!

  13. Ugh, I’m not supposed to click LIKE… I mean, I’m sorry you’re feeling some pain, not LIKING it. * sweats* Well, you know what I mean. Get well.
