You are not my best friend

I am sure you can tell from my posts lately that life is all about Chhori these days. I am loving that she is growing up to be a cute little talker who doesn’t waste time and tells you exactly how she feels.

She has got good manners and says Thank you and Please (most of the time 🙂 ). She sometimes say unexpected things like,

Looking good mama

New dress

You sick?”

Good job

Light off please

I always wanted her to grow up to be a strong , confident independent woman but then I have to go through all these phases of her attitudes which I am not ready for.

There have been times she says NO to things and we have to tell her why she has to eat/do/ wear it etc.

AS is so patient with her and explains her everything, I am just grateful that he is part of this whole parenting process.

Anyway these days, when I pick her up from childcare she tells me about her day and depending on who she played with on that day, “Jacob/Ivy/Monique/Abby/Nathan is my best friend.”

And then she started saying,” Mama, you are my best friend” or “Papa, you are my best friend.”

It is so sweet because she will come and hug and kiss.  She comes and says “Hug me please

She shows so much of love that I can’t get enough of it.

But then when she is denied something, she makes this sweet angry face and says, “You are not my best friend.” Or “I don’t like you.”

She looks so cute that I have to hide my laugh and concentrate on disciplining her.

Life is so much better being a parent for sure.

Do share your own sweet moments with your toddler.

Take care,

M from nepaliaustralian

  1. That is such a sweet memory. She managed to surprise her with so many different stuffs all the time. I am loving her company and being a mum.

  2. Awww that is sweet – I remember my daughter as a little girl turning around after the last of a few times I had to tell her off for something and she said “I don’t like you very much!” It cut my heart! I still recall it now, many years later. It made me so sad 😦 Thankfully she relented and, for most of her 17 years, we’ve been the best of friends!
