Our Chhora Turned 7 ❤️🎉

On 14 June, our little Chhora turned 7… and honestly, I still can’t believe I’m writing that.

How did seven years go by so quickly? It feels like yesterday I was holding this tiny little baby in my arms, and now here he is — growing into this kind, funny, thoughtful and incredibly mature little person. Time really does move too fast.

This year felt extra special because for the first time, he was so excited to celebrate with his school friends. Now that he’s in Year 1, he had been talking about his birthday party for weeks and had a very clear vision of what he wanted. Seeing him plan who to invite and get excited about celebrating with his friends made me realise how quickly he’s growing up.

So this year, we went big and invited 30+ kids to celebrate at an indoor play centre — and wow… what a day!

The moment we arrived and he saw everything set up, his face absolutely lit up. His party room was decorated with a superhero theme, and he was beyond excited. Watching him proudly welcome his friends and show everyone around made my heart so full.

The kids had the BEST time. They were running around non-stop between the giant slides, soft play area, laser tag, giant cupcake ride and dancing on the dance floor. There was so much energy, laughter and excitement everywhere you looked.

There’s something so magical about watching kids completely lose themselves in fun — making friends, cheering each other on and creating memories they’ll probably talk about at school for weeks.

And of course… there was plenty of food because no kids’ party is complete without it!

The kids enjoyed all their favourites — nuggets, chips, pizza, fruit and popcorn — and there was definitely no shortage of excitement and sugar 😂

For the adults, we were well looked after too with catered gozleme, pizza, chicken wings, salad and chips, which honestly helped keep all the parents going through the party chaos.

It was a long day. We were exhausted by the end of it. There was organising, hosting, making sure everyone was fed, keeping track of kids and all the little things mums and dads do behind the scenes that no one sees.

But then I looked over and saw him.

Running around with the biggest smile on his face. Laughing with his friends. Dancing. Playing. Just being seven.

And suddenly none of the tiredness mattered.

One thing I’ve realised as a mum is that birthdays become emotional in ways you never expect. You spend weeks planning the perfect day and then suddenly you find yourself standing in the corner watching your child grow up in front of you.

This little boy continues to surprise me every day. He is so mature for his age, thoughtful, caring and independent, but still gives the best cuddles and reminds me that he’s still my baby too.

Happy 7th Birthday to our beautiful Chhora ❤️

Thank you for making us laugh, keeping us on our toes and filling our lives with so much love and joy. Watching you grow is the greatest privilege and I hope you always stay kind, curious, confident and full of life.

Slow down time… Mum isn’t ready ❤️

My Happy Place – Pool Days & Warm Weather ☀️

One of my favourite things to do these days is swimming. As autumn slowly comes to an end and the warmer days start to return, I’ve been making the most of every bit of sunshine and every warm afternoon by spending time in the pool. There’s just something so peaceful and refreshing about being in the water. 💙

Swimming has become more than just an activity for me — it’s my little escape, my happy place, and one of the best ways to relax and recharge. The feeling of jumping into cool water on a warm day instantly washes away stress and makes me feel alive again. Some days I swim laps, some days I simply float around and enjoy the calmness, but every moment in the pool feels special.

I absolutely love my pool and the memories being made around it. From sunny afternoons to golden sunsets reflecting on the water, it’s become one of my favourite spots to unwind, laugh, and enjoy life. There’s something magical about hearing the water ripple, feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin, and just slowing down for a while.

As summer gets closer, I know there will be even more pool days ahead, and honestly, I can’t wait. Warm weather, blue skies, fresh air, and swimming — that combination just brings me so much happiness. ☀️🏊‍♀️💦

Life feels a little lighter near the water, and I’m so grateful for these simple moments that bring so much joy.

Caught in the “Darcula” Vibe 🖤✨

Lately, I’ve been completely hooked on “Darcula” by Jennie — it’s one of those songs that just lives in your head rent-free 🎶
My friend and I jumped on the trend and filmed our own little video to it, and honestly… it was way too much fun. The kind of fun where you don’t even realise how much time has passed because you’re just laughing, dancing, and replaying the same song over and over again.

Now it’s stuck in my mind all day — the beat, the vibe, everything. It’s funny how some songs just do that… they become part of your mood, your energy, even your routine.

I think this might just be the beginning because now I feel like doing this with all my friends 😂 Different people, different vibes, same song — sounds like a whole series waiting to happen!

Here’s to more fun moments, random dance videos, and songs that bring people together 🖤✨

Girls’ Time – The Best Kind of Therapy 💛

Why do we need girls’ time? Because sometimes life just feels lighter when you’re surrounded by the people who know you the longest. 💛

Today was one of those beautiful, simple days that remind me how important friendships are. An old friend came over and we finally got the chance to slow down and catch up properly. The weather was warm and perfect, the kind of Sydney day that just makes you want to be outside and enjoy every moment.

We started the day with a relaxed brunch, talking about everything and nothing at the same time. You know those conversations where time just disappears? That’s exactly how it felt. After that we jumped in the pool for a swim, laughing like we were back in the old days. There’s something about being in the water on a warm day that just makes everything feel carefree again.

Of course, no catch-up is complete without good food. We shared snacks, chatted for hours, and enjoyed some delicious dai poori while telling stories, remembering old memories and creating new ones. The best part wasn’t anything fancy, it was simply the joy of being together, laughing, talking, and appreciating the friendship that has lasted through so many years.

Days like this remind me that girls’ time isn’t just about hanging out. It’s about connection, support, laughter, and those little moments that recharge your heart. So grateful for friendships that feel easy, warm and full of happiness. ✨

Celebrating Teej with Friends – A Festival of Food, Dance, and Fun

This year’s Teej celebrations were such a beautiful surprise for me! 🌸✨

I ended up joining so many different Teej Ko Daar gatherings with different groups of friends, and each one had its own unique charm. There was endless food (seriously, the feasting never stopped), lots of laughter, hours of dancing, and of course—plenty of TikToks being made along the way. It was festive, colourful, and full of energy from start to finish.

What made it even more meaningful is that I’m Newar, and I didn’t really grow up celebrating Teej in the traditional way. But because of my friends, I was able to immerse myself in the joy of the festival this year—and I absolutely loved every part of it! Sometimes, it’s the people around you who make a festival special, and that’s exactly how it felt.

From finding outfit inspiration online, to getting dressed up in gorgeous festive looks, to sharing meals and dancing until we were all out of breath—the celebrations were about so much more than just tradition. They were about togetherness, joy, and creating memories that will stick with me for years.

Teej this year wasn’t just about celebrating—it was about connection, culture, and pure fun.

I’m so grateful to my friends for including me in their traditions and making me feel part of something bigger. Can’t wait to do it all over again next year! 💃
