Little Fingers, Beautiful Music 🎹

Every time Chori sits at the piano to practise, my heart feels full. There is something so calming, so beautiful, and so special about listening to her play. I’ve shared a few of her piano videos before, but watching her learning journey and daily practice never gets old for me. It’s one of my favourite moments at home.

She has been playing the piano for a long time now, and it truly shows. The way she focuses, counts her notes, corrects herself, and keeps going even when a piece feels challenging makes me so proud. It’s not just about the music — it’s about her dedication, patience, and love for learning. Seeing her grow, improve, and gain confidence through practice is such a joy to watch.

I love how the house feels different when she plays. The sound of the piano fills the rooms with warmth, peace, and happiness. Sometimes I stop whatever I’m doing just to sit and listen quietly. Those little practice sessions, the repeated notes, and even the mistakes are all part of something really beautiful. They remind me that progress comes from consistency and effort.

Chori’s piano practice is more than just a routine – it’s a reflection of her hard work and passion. Watching her learn, practise, and enjoy music makes me incredibly proud as a parent. These moments are memories in the making, and I’m so grateful to witness her journey, one melody at a time 🤍

Pustakari & Sweet Memories from Home 🇳🇵🤍

Growing up in Nepal, Pustakari was my chocolate. While others might think of candy bars and sweets wrapped in shiny paper, for us, this traditional Nepali sweet was everything. One bite could make your jaw work a little harder, but your heart instantly happier. It brings back so many childhood memories — school days, village shops, winter mornings, and sharing pieces with friends.

For those who don’t know, Pustakari (also known as Chaku) is a traditional Nepali sweet made mainly from jaggery (unrefined cane sugar), ghee, and nuts or seeds like sesame. It is slowly cooked until it reaches a thick, chewy texture and then shaped into round discs or flattened pieces. Traditionally, it’s eaten during winter because it’s known to provide warmth and energy to the body. In Nepal, it’s also considered nutritious — rich in iron, minerals, and natural goodness compared to processed sweets.

Pustakari isn’t just a sweet; it’s part of Nepali culture. It’s often enjoyed during festivals, cold seasons or simply as a treat from the local pasal. I still remember choosing Pustakari over chocolate without a second thought – that deep caramel-like flavour, the nuttiness, and the satisfying chew were unbeatable.

Recently, I was so excited to find Pustakari here in Sydney — and honestly, it felt like a piece of home found its way to me. This one is from the Swastik brand, and it tasted absolutely delicious. Just like the ones I remember, rich in flavour, perfectly chewy, and so comforting. This is how it looks, just like shown in the video – simple, traditional, and full of nostalgia.

Some tastes never leave you. No matter how far you go, flavours like Pustakari instantly take you back to your roots. Finding it here reminded me of my childhood, my country, and the simple joys we grew up with. Truly grateful for these little connections to home 🤎

✨ Dream Come True ✨

Seven years ago, when we moved into our new home, I had one big dream—a pool in our backyard. I still remember asking my husband back then, “Is the backyard big enough for a pool… maybe one day?” It was just a dream at the time, something I held quietly in my heart.

Dreams don’t come easy. They take time, patience, planning, and a lot of saving. There were moments when it felt far away, but we never let the dream go. Step by step, year by year, we worked toward it. And finally… that dream is now real.

Our pool is ready, and honestly, I couldn’t be happier. This summer has been extra special—hot days, cool water, laughter, and memories being made. Seeing friends and family come over, enjoy the pool, and share these moments with us has made it even more meaningful.

This isn’t just about a pool. It’s about believing in your dreams, being patient, and trusting that what’s meant for you will come at the right time. Some dreams take longer than others, but when they do come true, they feel even sweeter. This was one of my biggest dreams, and today I’m living it—grateful, happy, and full of joy 💙

If you’re holding onto a dream right now, don’t give up. Keep believing. Keep going. Dreams do come true.

What Is This Viral Chinese Song That My Kids Can’t Stop Singing?

Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed something really fun happening in our household—and on social media everywhere! A particular Chinese song has gone absolutely viral, and my kids are completely obsessed with it. Every time it plays, they start singing and dancing along, and I can’t help but smile at how catchy it is.

I decided to hop on the trend and create a few TikToks featuring the song. Watching my kids enjoy themselves while the music plays has been such a joyful experience. There’s just something so heartwarming about seeing children genuinely connect with music, even in a language they don’t fully understand yet.

But here’s the thing: I have no idea what the song actually means! 😅 I know it’s super popular, and it’s clear why—it’s upbeat, playful, and has a melody that sticks in your head. Still, curiosity got the better of me. I really want to understand the lyrics, the story, and the meaning behind this viral sensation. Is it a love song, a fun children’s tune, or something else entirely?

I thought I’d reach out to all of you. If anyone understands Chinese or knows the meaning of this song, please share your insights in the comments. I would love to learn more and maybe even explain it to my kids. It’s always exciting to discover the story behind a song, especially one that brings so much joy to our family.

Music truly has a universal language. Even without knowing the words, my kids’ laughter and singing prove that a catchy tune can bring happiness across cultures and languages. Still, there’s something special about fully understanding the song and sharing that knowledge with our little ones – it makes the experience even more meaningful.

So, if you’ve heard this song, understand Chinese, or have any insight about the lyrics, I’d be so grateful if you could let me know in the comments. It’s always wonderful to learn from others and connect over shared interests, especially when it comes to something as fun and viral as this.

Thank you so much in advance to anyone who can help! And to everyone else, enjoy the music, sing along, and maybe even share it with your kids—it’s guaranteed to put a smile on their faces. 💖

Happy birthday AS 🥳🎉🎂

December has always been special to me — not just because of Christmas or school holidays — but because it’s the month my favourite person was born. Yes, AS birthday falls in December, and that alone makes this month extra meaningful.

This man deserves to be celebrated every single day. He is an incredible husband, a loving and hands-on father, and truly my rock. He supports us, protects us and loves our little family with his whole heart. Watching him with our two kids fills me with so much pride — he’s patient, caring, fun, and always there for them. They are so lucky to have him, and honestly, so am I.

We kicked off his birthday with a morning surprise — bells ringing, decorations everywhere, a beautiful cake, and thoughtful gifts to make him feel as special as he truly is. The smiles said it all. Later, we went out for brunch at a lovely café and spent quality time together. He enjoyed a big breakfast, I had avocado, eggs and toast, and the kids happily devoured their pancakes. Simple moments, lots of laughs, and so much love.

It was such a beautiful day celebrating a man who gives so much to us every day. Happy Birthday to my favourite human — thank you for being you, for being ours, and for making December my favourite month of all 🤍
