We went to IKEA the other day and both AS and I were busy looking at furniture. After a few minutes when we turned around ,we found Chhori was making herself comfortable in a chair and reading their catalogue. Look at the photo. We know for sure that she is a princess 🙂 . My cheeky monkey!
Sometimes we learn so much from kids. As an adult we sometimes forget that kids are so smart and learn so much from their environment.
I mostly feel that Chhori is very small and forget that she already knows so much. She surprised us when she stared to join our conversations. Whenever AS or I ask a question to each other, if she knows the answer, she will say it. Sometimes it has caught us off guard but we love it as it beings a smile to both of our faces.
Lately we are giving her a lot less screen time so she can play with her toys and be active more. It is working well except that sometimes she will say “TV please mama”. I see her pretend play with her cars, teddies and dolls. It is so interesting and surprising at the same time as she repeats things that we say to her like ” No baby ” or ” Eat more please” etc.
Yesterday, both AS and I were on our phones updating our grocery list and Chhori was dancing to one of her rhymes and suddenly she came to us and said “No phone mama”. I didn’t quite get it at first but when she said it again, I did and put my phone down. Then she went to AS and said, “No phone papa.” He obliged and she instructed both of us to stand up and start dancing with her.
Both of us could not help but laugh as that is what we usually tell her and now she was reminding us of that.
I am loving being a parent to this smart little cutie pie.
Do share any unexpected conversation by your kids. I am sure there are some fun and embarrassing ones too.
I am sure I am not alone in this boat. There are days/ week where you feel down and don’t want to do anything, meet anyone and feel as if your life is going nowhere. You just see everything around you and nothing is going according to your plan.
I am having one of those days and I feel like I need to jerking myself out of it and tell myself that I have many blessing to count and I should not waste time thinking about nonsense.
So that is what I am doing right now.
I am blessed with good health which so many people in this world wish for.
I am blessed to have loving parents who will do anything to make me happy and have been so supportive and caring throughout my life. I am where I am because of their sacrifice and love. I should never forget that even when I am down.
I am blessed to have a hubby who completes me in every way. He knows every small thing about me and tries his best to keep a smile on my face. I am so blessed to get a partner who is my love, friend and my life. Nothing can change our bond and I am so proud to say that.
I am blessed to have a daughter who is my world, my heartbeat and absolute cutie pie. When she hugs me, kisses me or says “I love you Mama”, the world becomes a happier place. She is a source of happiness in our lives. Sometime I become selfish and want to stop time as I don’t want her to grow up.
I am blessed to have a job which helps me to provide family with food, a roof on our head and life’s various needs.
I am blessed to be living in a country where I don’t have to worry about day to day stuff and don’t need to fight for our rights.
I am blessed to have friends and family who care about me and my happiness. Even if they may not be many, the care and love is real and it matters a lot.
Writing this is already making me feel better.
Please share your own list and hope that list can bring a smile on your face every time you are down or unhappy.
It was Nepali Mother’s day on 26 April. As I have explained here before, it is on a different day than the one here in Australia.
So that morning I called my mum and AS called his mum to wish them Happy Mother’s day and to get their blessings. We miss them more this year as both of them were here last year and it had made our day extra special.
Now I am a mum as well and I feel really proud to be a mum to this gorgeous angel.
I strongly believe that we need to teach our children about our culture and tradition. We can’t just expect them to learn about it. We need to do our best to show them, create interest and get them involved.
Chhori is at an age where she is interested and curious to know about everything so we let her do the whole process on her own, including tika and sagun. She was really well behaved and followed the instruction.
We concluded the ceremony by cutting a cake.
Then on 14 May, it was Mother’s Day in Australia so Chhori’s childcare invited us for Mother’s day high tea on the Friday before that. The center did really well decorating the place and organizing amazing food and nibbles. They had some special signs for the kids to hold making it special for the mums.
The kids also painted and decorated cards for their mums. Chhori managed to decorate a big heart with colors and glitters. She also did a flower which I really loved.
On 14 May, AS helped Chhori to make a breakfast and I was spoiled with yummy food. She said “Happy Mother’s Day’ and “I love you Mama”.
I feel so blessed to have this cutie pie in our life. I know there are times when it is hard to be a mum but her smiling face and a big hug outweighs all the trouble we have to go through.
I love you so much Chhori. You are the heart of our family.
Hope all you beautiful and wonderful Mom’s out there had a great Mother’s Day too.
I haven’t gone to many events since having Chhori as I love my time with my sweetheart. I always feel that I can catch up with events when she is older, as I can’t get enough of her now.
But I decided to leave her with her dad and go watch a Bollywood stars’ tour in Sydney on Saturday 22 April 2017. It was advertised as the biggest Bollywood show in Sydney with a star cast of
The Real SULTAN of Bollywood, Heart-throb of OVER a Billion Fans, THE HOTTEST & The SUPER DUPER Star SALMAN KHAN
GORGEOUS & CHARMING Bollywood DIVA – SONAKSHI SINHA
FAMOUS Actor/Choreographer – PRABHU DEVA
SIZZLING HOT BOLLYWOOD ACTRESS – BIPASHA BASU
GLAMOUR Girl Actress – DAISY Shah
THE LATEST SENSATION – SINGER & RAPPER – BADSHAH
THE MOST LOVED HOST OF BOLLYWOOD – MANISH Paul
I didn’t know everyone on the list but knew that it was going to be a fun night out with my girlfriends. So we bought the tickets few weeks ago.
It was held at Qudos Bank Arena and on the day of the event we got here almost an hour early to avoid traffic. I was so busy during the day, I didn’t even have lunch so we went to a café straight away before going to our seats.
The show started on time and the event host Manish Paul was funny, witty and hilarious and we couldn’t stop laughing. I haven’t notice him much before but now I won’t forget him. His jokes were spot on and kept the audience captivated. There was good amount audience interaction which made it even more exciting.
Sonakshi Sinha, Prabhu Deva, Bipasha Basu and Daisy Shah were great. They danced to popular Bollywood songs and the overall choreography was also great.
And of course, the highlight was Salman Khan who was captivating and entertaining and humble as ever. Everyone, especially the girls and the women went crazy when he came on stage and started talking. He is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood right now and it was great to see him and everyone else up-close and live.
But for me the unexpected highlight was Badshah. To be honest, I have seen his face before though I didn’t know his name but I really enjoyed his performance on the stage with the other 2 singers. They were so full of life that we didn’t want to stay seated; they made everyone dance. All the songs were really catchy even though I was hearing some for the very first time. He knew how to work the crowd and created this interactive atmosphere so we all felt like a part of this big concert.
Overall, we had a great time with full on entertainment for over 3 hours.
