Chhori birthday celebration party

As I mentioned before in my post, we had Chhori’s birthday celebration in Nepali way and at her childcare. But we also decided to throw a small party for her. We thought it would be nice to celebrate her birthday among our friends and family.

Now she is at that stage that she understands the celebration and so she was looking forward to her Peppa themed birthday party. She would go around telling everyone who would listen, that she is turning 3 and she will have a Peppa themed birthday party.

We also decided to hire a professional photographer to capture the memories on that day and I am glad we did.

We did some family photo shoot before the party.

I had a table decorated with everything Peppa.

The table was full with lollies, juices, biscuits, cupcake and goodie bag. Chhori was super excited so see all the arrangements.

Around noon, guests started to arrive. When most of the guest was in, we served lunch.

It was followed by cake cutting, yes, a Peppa one.

To make the things fun, I had a few games planned for the kids and the parents as well.

We did the egg and spoon race, balloon race and bingo. We had so much fun as everyone laughed and enjoyed the day.

The day ended with bubbles all over the park. We had bought bubble wands and as the day was slightly windy, it was so easy to make a lot of bubble.

Overall we had a great celebration and Chhori was over the moon with all the attention, gifts and Peppa around.

She is a big 3 years old girl now.

Take care ,

You look like a banana 🍌 mama

While celebrating the Nepali new Year, I was dressed in traditional yellow kurta.

As I came out of my room I had this conversation with Chhori

Chhori : “You look like a banana 🍌 mama

Me: (not trying to laugh) “I am so hurt” (making a sad face)

Chhori: “I am sorry mama. I look like broccoli 🥦 (looking at her green kurta)

Me: (laughing) “I love broccoli 🥦

Chhori: “and I love banana 🍌 and I love you mama”

She definitely has become quite cheeky and witty. I love our conversations and I love her so much. I want her to remain like this forever.

Take your yogurt mama

I don’t how kids these are so smart and clever.

Chhori surprises us every day with her smart brain and the way she communicates with us.

We kind of have an order as to how we say good bye before I leave for work. First it is a hug 🤗 then a kiss 😘 and finally a hi-five 👋.Then the following dialogues occur.

Chhori: “Have a good day mama

Me: “Have a good day baby.

This happens every single day. But the other day chhori added, “ and don’t forget your yogurt Mama.”

I normally take yogurt for lunch and lucky for me that day, I actually had forgotten it. I don’t know how she knew but she has a good eye on what’s happening around her.

Love her to the moon and back.

Take care and happy Friday.

Double celebration – Australia said YES and Socceroos wins

After a long drawn out postal survey, the result was announced yesterday and Australia has said YES to same-sex marriage.

More than two months after the survey forms began arriving in the mail boxes and longer still since the Yes and No campaigns kicked off, ABS chief statistician David Kalisch revealed the decision: “61.6 per cent of clear responses were yes”. Australians rejoice as the result was announced.

It is a big step for all Australian to take a decisive step towards legislating marriage equality.

I voted YES but I met lots of people around me who voted NO. I know some people put their reason as religion while others think it is wrong. But for me, it is all about giving everyone the same chance to be with the person they love, no matter if they are gay or straight.

Next step is for it to go through the parliament to pass the bill to make it all legal. It is expected to happen before Christmas.

In another great news, Australian soccer team, Socceroos beat Honduras 3-1 to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

It was a great game and I am looking forward to watching the FIFA World Cup next year.

Hope all of you are having a great day like I am.

Take care.

I feel blessed…

I am sure I am not alone in this boat. There are days/ week where you feel down and don’t want to do anything, meet anyone and feel as if your life is going nowhere. You just see everything around you and nothing is going according to your plan.

I am having one of those days and I feel like I need to jerking myself out of it and tell myself that I have many blessing to count and I should not waste time thinking about nonsense.

So that is what I am doing right now.

  • I am blessed with good health which so many people in this world wish for.

  • I am blessed to have loving parents who will do anything to make me happy and have been so supportive and caring throughout my life. I am where I am because of their sacrifice and love. I should never forget that even when I am down.

  • I am blessed to have a hubby who completes me in every way. He knows every small thing about me and tries his best to keep a smile on my face. I am so blessed to get a partner who is my love, friend and my life. Nothing can change our bond and I am so proud to say that.

  • I am blessed to have a daughter who is my world, my heartbeat and absolute cutie pie. When she hugs me, kisses me or says “I love you Mama”, the world becomes a happier place. She is a source of happiness in our lives. Sometime I become selfish and want to stop time as I don’t want her to grow up.

  • I am blessed to have a job which helps me to provide family with food, a roof on our head and life’s various needs.
  • I am blessed to be living in a country where I don’t have to worry about day to day stuff and don’t need to fight for our rights.
  • I am blessed to have friends and family who care about me and my happiness. Even if they may not be many, the care and love is real and it matters a lot.

Writing this is already making me feel better.

Please share your own list and hope that list can bring a smile on your face every time you are down or unhappy.

Have a great day everyone.
