✨A Sky Full of Wonder at Illuminate Adelaide✨

Sometimes a family experience comes along that leaves everyone speechless.

That was exactly what happened when we watched the Drone Show at Illuminate Adelaide. ❤️

Standing together with my family, surrounded by thousands of excited people all looking up at the night sky, we knew we were about to see something special. But honestly, none of us were prepared for just how magical it would be.

As the countdown began, the sky above Adelaide suddenly came alive.

Hundreds of lights appeared in perfect formation, moving gracefully across the darkness. One moment they looked like sparkling stars floating above us. The next, they transformed into intricate shapes, animals, symbols and breathtaking animations that seemed impossible to create with flying machines.

The collective “wow” from the crowd was something I’ll never forget.

🌟 The Kids Couldn’t Look Away

Watching the show through my children’s eyes made the experience even more special.

Their faces lit up with pure excitement as the drones moved and changed shape.

“How are they doing that?”

“Are they all talking to each other?”

“Which one is flying the highest?”

Question after question came flying my way as they watched in complete amazement.

For them, it felt like watching a real-life animated movie playing across the night sky.

Every new formation brought cheers, smiles and pointing fingers. It was one of those beautiful parenting moments where you realise you’re creating memories that they’ll probably talk about for years.

🤖 Technology Meets Art

As someone who works in IT and digital transformation, I couldn’t help but be fascinated by the technology behind it all.

What looked like magic was actually an incredible demonstration of innovation, precision and creativity.

Every drone has to know exactly where it needs to be, every movement must be coordinated perfectly, and hundreds of individual devices must work together seamlessly to create a single piece of art.

Standing there watching the sky transform, I couldn’t help thinking how much the world has changed.

Not long ago, fireworks were the ultimate spectacle.

Today, we’re seeing technology tell stories in entirely new ways.

It reminded me of how AI, automation and digital innovation are quietly becoming part of everyday life. Sometimes we think of technology as systems, software and devices, but experiences like this show how it can also create emotion, excitement and wonder.

The future is no longer something we’re waiting for.

The future is already here.

✨ The Magic of the Night Sky

What made the drone show so special wasn’t just the technology.

It was the atmosphere.

Families sitting together.

Children laughing.

Couples holding hands.

Friends taking photos.

Complete strangers collectively staring upward in amazement.

For a few moments, everyone was connected by the same experience.

Nobody was rushing.

Nobody was worried about tomorrow.

Everyone was simply present.

And in today’s busy world, that’s a pretty special thing.

❤️ A Family Memory We’ll Never Forget

As the final display appeared and the crowd erupted into applause, I found myself feeling incredibly grateful.

Grateful for experiences like this.

Grateful for family adventures.

Grateful for living in a time where creativity and technology can come together in such spectacular ways.

The kids talked about it all the way back to the hotel.

To be honest, so did I.

Illuminate Adelaide’s drone show wasn’t just entertainment.

It was storytelling.

It was innovation.

It was art.

It was imagination.

Most importantly, it was one of those unforgettable family memories that reminds you why travelling together is so special.

If you ever get the chance to see a drone show like this, do it.

Because sometimes the most magical moments happen when you simply look up. ❤️✨

✨ A Magical Night at Illuminate Adelaide ✨

Some experiences stay with you long after they’re over, and for me, Illuminate Adelaide was one of them. ❤️

As the sun set and Adelaide transformed into a canvas of light, colour and imagination, we joined thousands of people wandering through the city streets with excitement and wonder in our eyes. There was something magical about seeing familiar buildings and public spaces completely transformed into works of art.

The kids were absolutely mesmerised.

Every few minutes there was another “Wow!”, “Look at that!”, or “Can we go closer?” The excitement was contagious, and before long I found myself just as captivated as they were.

🌈 When the City Becomes a Work of Art

What I loved most about Illuminate Adelaide was how it brought the entire city to life.

Historic buildings became giant storytelling canvases, with stunning projections moving across walls in ways that felt almost impossible. Colours danced across the architecture, transforming stone and concrete into living artworks.

Some displays were bright and playful, while others were calm and thought-provoking. Every corner seemed to reveal something different.

One moment we were standing beneath a building glowing with vibrant colours and intricate patterns. The next, we were watching animations flow across the facade as if the building itself had come alive.

The attention to detail was incredible. Every projection felt carefully crafted to create a sense of wonder, and the combination of light, music and movement made each installation feel immersive.

🤖 Technology, Creativity and Imagination

As someone who works in technology, I couldn’t help but be fascinated by what goes on behind the scenes.

To most people, it’s beautiful artwork.

To my kids, it’s pure magic.

To me, it’s an amazing example of what happens when technology and creativity come together.

Every projection, visual effect and interactive display is powered by technology, yet what people experience is emotion. That’s what makes events like this so special.

It’s also a reminder that technology isn’t just about systems, computers and devices. It can tell stories, create emotional connections and inspire people in ways we never imagined.

The future isn’t only about AI, automation and innovation. It’s also about how we use these tools to create meaningful experiences.

Walking through the city, seeing children laughing, families exploring and strangers stopping together to admire the same display, I realised technology can bring people together just as much as it can connect us online.

❤️ Seeing It Through My Children’s Eyes

One of the best parts of the evening was watching the kids.

Their imagination was running wild.

Every light installation became something different in their minds. They weren’t looking at projectors or digital displays. They were seeing magical worlds, giant creatures, colourful planets and endless possibilities.

Sometimes as adults we get caught up trying to understand how things work.

Kids simply enjoy the moment.

And honestly, I think they have the right idea.

Watching them experience pure joy reminded me to slow down, look up and appreciate the wonder around us.

🌟 A Night to Remember

Illuminate Adelaide wasn’t just about lights.

It was about creativity.

It was about innovation.

It was about family.

It was about seeing a city transformed and being reminded that wonder still exists, no matter how old we are.

As we walked back with tired legs, happy hearts and hundreds of photos on our phones, I knew this would be one of those family memories we’d talk about for years.

A magical evening, beautiful displays, endless smiles and a reminder that sometimes the best experiences are the ones that make you stop, stare and simply say…

“Wow.” ✨❤️

A Day in My Life | Work From Home Edition 💻☕🏡✨

People often imagine working from home means a slow morning in pyjamas and endless cups of coffee… but reality? It’s more like balancing meetings, family life, deadlines, school pick-up and trying to remember whether I actually drank my tea while it was still hot 😅

Here’s a little glimpse into a typical work from home day as an IT professional and mum.

My mornings usually start before work mode even begins. I wake up and take a little time for myself — brush my hair, do my skincare and get ready for the day. I’ve realised over time that even on work from home days, getting properly ready helps me feel more focused and puts me in the right mindset.

Then I head out for a morning walk. That quiet time before the day begins has become something I really value. Fresh air, movement and a chance to clear my head before everything gets busy.

Once I’m back home, it’s straight into family mode. Breakfast gets prepared, lunch boxes packed and everyone organised for the day ahead. I make breakfast for the family and prepare lunch for the kids and hubby so everyone is sorted before heading out.

Then suddenly — the house goes quiet.

And just like that… my workday begins.

Laptop open. Calendar checked. Coffee nearby.

Most days are a mix of meetings one after another, project discussions, checking in with teams, responding to messages and trying to stay on top of priorities. In between meetings, I usually find time to finalise documents, work through tasks and keep projects moving.

One thing I’ve learnt working in IT is that there’s always something happening. Some days are calm and productive, and some days feel like solving ten puzzles at once — but I genuinely enjoy the challenge.

Then before I know it… it’s already 3pm.

Time to switch hats again.

Laptop closed (temporarily), keys grabbed and off I go to pick up the kids. I actually love this part of the day because no matter how busy work gets, school pick-up feels like a reset. Hearing about their day, random stories and what happened at lunch somehow puts everything into perspective.

Once we’re back home, it’s back online for a little while to wrap things up and finish work around 5pm.

Then starts my favourite shift — home life.

Afternoons are spent hanging out with the kids, chatting, helping where needed and making time to actually be present. We sit together for tea and snacks, which has become one of those small daily moments I really enjoy.

Then it’s time to make dinner, clean up and settle into the evening.

One of my favourite parts of the day is finally slowing down and talking with hubby — catching up on our days, talking about random things and just spending time together after everything settles down.

Before bed, I spend some more time with the kids — cuddles, chats, hearing about tomorrow’s plans and soaking up those little moments because I know they grow too quickly.

And before I call it a day, I make time for one small ritual that I’ve really come to enjoy — reading my book before going to sleep. It’s my little way to slow down, put the screen away and end the day quietly. Just a few pages helps me relax, reset and take a moment for myself before doing it all again tomorrow. 📚✨

And then… lights out and call it a day.

Work from home life isn’t always perfectly balanced and some days feel chaotic, but I’m grateful for the flexibility, the family moments and being able to do work I enjoy while still being present for the people I love most ❤️

A little busy. A little messy. But a lot of life.
