Spring will be here in no time so I am trying to eat healthy and detox. If you want to detox your body, did you know it can be as simple as eating the right foods? Here are some food I have started in my diet.
1. Avocados
Do you love avocados so much you would put slices of them on just about any food you eat? There’s no reason to feel guilty about doing this, especially because this is such a great food for you to eat. Avocados are packed full of antioxidants, including glutathione. This detoxes the body by transporting harmful toxins right out of it. By reducing the chemicals and toxins in your body you will be healthier and feel better.
2. Cranberries
These might be great for preventing urinary tract infections, but they can also get rid of toxins inside of your body. These get rid of waste from the body and are antibacterial so they remove toxins.
3. . Cabbage
This food has sulfur inside of it, which is essential when it comes to breaking down chemicals in the body. Sulfur can help get rid of everything from pesticides to prescription drugs, which could be harmful if they stuck around.
4. Lemons
These are great in drinks and recipes, but they are also packed full of vitamins and antioxidants. These protect the liver and they get rid of chemicals inside of the body. Consuming lemons on a regular basis can improve health.
5. Broccoli
If you’re the type of person who doesn’t like broccoli, you should try it out once again! It’s full of antioxidants that can cleanse your body. It’s also high in enzymes that help to get your digestive system running efficiently. Raw broccoli is best because it has a high level of nutrients inside of it.
6. Garlic
Packed full of sulfur, this is another great food to use for body cleanses. It also has antibiotic properties so it can help internally heal your body. There are a lot of advantages to eating garlic on a regular basis; it’s even available in supplement form!
7. Beetroots
These can be incorporated into a lot of different recipes or they can be eaten raw. They are full of betaine and pectin, which help protect the liver and the digestive system. These can cleanse the body so you have fewer toxins.
8. Grapefruit
This fruit helps cleanse the digestive system and it can prevent kidney stones from developing. It’s also low in natural sugars and calories, so it’s great for dieting.
9. Sunflower Seeds
These are great to snack on and can detox the liver so it’s healthier. It can also get rid of harmful toxins floating around in the body. In addition to this, it prevents cholesterol from building up and causing body damage.
10. Lentils
These aid the digestive system to cleanse and detox your body. Lentils also lower the cholesterol and help balance the blood sugar inside of your body.
So start eating these healthy food and stay happy.
What is your healthy food? Do you detox?

I’m too late to say good luck on your 14k, so I’ll just have to ask how it went. You have a great weekend, too, M.
Thanks Sid. It went well and we are definitely do it again next year 🙂
Seasonal fruits & garden salad makes good portion of our daily meal and being a vegetarian family beans/lentils along with dairy is the prime source of proteins.
Looking forward to a post “Healthy Drinking”
btw: Beer has a diuretic property! 😉
Like my husband said, beer is liquid so it is always good for you 🙂
Good luck with the run! OMG – 14ks!!! Awesome.
Thanks…Glad that it is over 🙂
I love them all especially avocado and missing it soooo much because its very difficult to find in Delhi 😦 love fresh beetroot too!
I know some fruits are season in India and Nepal. Lucky that we get almost everything all the time here in Sydney.
I like all the ones you listed, especially avocadoes and dried cranberries. I don’t detox, except at my work in the summer, I perspire and it is a great way to lose weight and also, keep toxins at bay! I like to eat the freshest produce, fruits and vegetables, possible. I enjoy whole grains and try to not go with white flour or sugar too often. I take a nutritional supplement called Juice Plus with dehydrated fruits and veggies in them. Good conversations start with food!! Smile and take care, Robin
Looks like you are on a healthy diet all the time Robin. Keep up the good job..

Avocados are my favourite, followed by beetroot! Good luck!!! Hugs Paula xxx
Thanks Paula :). I love Avocados too as they are so good 🙂
I love everything on the list. I mostly run all the veggies through my blender. Drinking them is the easiest way for me to get all my nutrients in. Great post. Best of luck in your run!
That is a great idea and finish in one go 🙂
I love everything that listed here except beetroot and I don’t know how to come in terms with it :(. In South India it is cooked with grated coconuts and thats the only version I can eat but I don’t enjoy this veggie at all. And good luck for your run 🙂
Thank you gal.
I never ate beetroot while in Nepal but I love beetroot in my sandwich now. So mine is raw but here are five ways to eat beetroots.
Raw: Slice them up and serve them with a sprinkle of chili and lemon.
Roasted with goat cheese: Roast beets until they are tender and juicy, then eat them with some spicy greens and piquant goat cheese. Add some hazelnuts if you prefer.
In a salad: Beets make a good complement to other salad staples. Try them tossed with barley and feta in a grain salad, or with onions and horseradish cream in an elegant composed dinner salad.
Pickled : Pickled beets are just marvelous. The tangy vinegar and sweetness complements beets’ earth undernotes.
As dessert: Beets and their smoky, earthy sweetness are the secret ingredient in some fabulous desserts, like our velvety beet and cocoa cake or red beet ice cream.
hmmm sud definitely give it a try! Thanks for the suggestions 🙂
