I have always been a lip-gloss person. When I think of lipstick, I always think “old” because I remember my mum and aunties using them. The reason I preferred lip gloss over lip stick is because it has a light-weight texture, is easy, moisturizing and can have different levels of shine and is a bit slippery in nature. Also I found some variety of gloss that last 8 hours without needing to reapply. Best of all lip gloss don’t stain teeth.
But recently I have started using lipstick and I have to say it is not as bad as I thought it would be.
I have around 10 lipsticks in my makeup cabinet which are not used at all. Most of them were from my wedding. I thought I would use them so I brought some here but I didn’t use them at all. The other day when I was talking to my MIL, she told me to use them otherwise they will go off so for the last few weeks I am experimenting with them.
I have some great colours so I am using them according to my dress and I have to admit, I am liking them. I have to be careful about staining my teeth but other than most of the lipsticks are denser and richer colour, which can last for a long time. I have to remember to reapply after lunch or tea, otherwise it is fine. Also I noticed that lipstick gives a fuller coverage to the lips as compared to most lip gloss.
Anyway this is my little discovery this week. Please share your thoughts on lipstick or lip gloss.

I’d prefer lip gloss, because lip sticks have more chemicals, and lip sticks can also be bad for you in some ways. Lip gloss have more great scents than lip sticks. Though, lip sticks have pretty colors. 🙂
me too exploring lip stick these days in and as office wear. and will certainly say loving it. try those from Mac. You wont regret. and for staying away from rough lips; try vaseline lip balm as the base before applying lipstick. It makes lipstick more durable. 🙂

Thanks for the tips and link. Just awesome. 🙂
I actually developed an allergy to lipstick a few years ago which kind of sucks(I never had a problem before that). Luckily I can still use lipgloss which I love anyway, except the only problem is, lipglosses don’t come in a range of colours like lipsticks do. 😦 At least the nice scents make up for it though. 🙂
ohooo allergy like this is so bad. You feel cheated. Hope you will find some good ones that is OK for you. Glad to see you back 🙂
I prefer lip gloss..
Try lipstick sometime 🙂
I was never into lip makeup at all. In fact a lip balm is all I’d do. When it comes to makeup I’m most fond of eye makeup and that too its just kohl or liner. But recently I’ve started experimenting and then too its the rare Red lipstick for super intense occasions. It is nice. I sometimes put the 18 hour loreal balm on top which keeps the lipstick from fading which is great! I think its called sure stay or something. 🙂
I was like you before but as I got older, I am experimenting a lot and finding things I love :). It is so much fun 🙂
di, you can put lipstick then lip gloss. That way your lipstick will last long:)..sometimes i use lip liner, then lipstick and lip gloss for a long lasting lipstick:)
Great idea sis, surely will try that 🙂
I was more into lip gloss and then about 2 years ago i got into lip stick. I always wanted to wear red red lippie and finally have done it this year!
Red lip is always hit for me, love it with ay outfit 🙂
I think for quick makeup I prefer lip gloss coz it’s just much easier, but for matte lip lip gloss might be a bit difficult to achieve…so it’s hard to choose between the two, I love both! 😛
I know, now I am on the same boat. Just a month ago, I was lipgloss person 🙂
I guess either as long as it is FDA approved!!! 😉
Glad to see you back Yatin. Missed all you witty comments 🙂
