The game everyone talking about (Brazil Vs Germany)

The first semi-final of 2014 world cup was very unusual no matter which team you were supporting. Of course, you guys know that I was rooting for Brazil and it was a huge disappointment.

Me and AS made sure our alarms were set well before we went to sleep last night. Therefore, at 6:00 am this morning, even though it was so cold, we managed to crawl out of bed and went to our lounge to watch one of the most anticipated games of this World Cup.

But to my disappointment and AS’s happiness the goal started to rain down at 11 minutes, 23 minutes,24 minutes, 26 minutes and 29 minutes. I was confused for a while wether the goals were repeat telecast or actual goals.

I could only imagine how happy all the Germany supporters must have been by that time. It was as if the game was over in the first 30 minutes and the poor Brazilian supports who were heartbroken. Even Christ the Redeemer statue must have been crying.

Even though I was supporting Brazil, I have to say that there was not a great teamwork in Brazilian team during the first half. By the time they seemed to get their act together in the second half, it was too late to recover.

Final score, Germany 7, Brazil 1, the only goal that Brazilian scored for the whole game was from Oscar at 90 minutes.

So, Germany has advanced to the final of the World Cup by thumping win over Brazil on their own turf. Toni Kroos and Andre Schuerrle each scored twice, with Miroslav Klose, Thomas Mueller and Sami Khedira adding their dose of pain for the home fans.

Now I am scared to watch the game tomorrow as I know Netherland is a good team and played well this tournament. I am still supporting Argentina and, of course, hope they will go to the final so I can enjoy the final.

Who were you supporting today and who are you planning to support tomorrow? Have your say about the World Cup 2014 games.

Well as I am german. I was really happy they won yesterday. But to be honest it kinda felt like a slaughtering and I felt really sorry for Brazil at some point. Maybe it was because Thiago was not there to lead their defense but this is barley an excuse.
However I am excited about todays game. Hope Argentina wins! 😀

  2. I didn’t go to sleep at all, till 1.30am, fearing I might switch off the alarm and miss the match.
As I was also supporting Brazil, the first 10 minutes were really interesting.
Once the goal rain started, I was shell shocked and switched off the TV after 40 minutes.
But, today is the match I am waiting for, and I really really wish, hope and pray Argentina wins today and take revenge to the loss they suffered at Germany’s hand in 1990, the first world cut match I had seen.
I am not a great football follower but, Argentina is the only reason I am following this whole world cup drama for the last 24 years 🙂

  3. I could not believe it when I saw the score!! This will go down in history! 😀 xxx

  4. I was happy yesterday 🙂
I think holland is the more difficult opponents than argentinia for us. but from the past I know that happiness has often argentina. Now we will see who will be our opponent. and of course I press the thumb in the playoffs for my country

  5. yeah heard it was terrible for Brazilian fans..I was supporting Germany..but hubby was supporting Brasil..will both be rooting for Argentina tomorrow..it’s gonna be epic..

  6. I supported Brazil. I did not watch the match, but am shocked by the result

  7. I supported Germany today but I was confused by the game as well. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. One goal after the other and Brazil just couldn’t get it together. I felt badly for the fans and for the team. I really thought it would be a much closer game. Tomorrow I’m rooting for the Netherlands because that’s where my son lives but I’d be happy to see either team win but next Sunday my loyalties will be with Germany.
