Still love Argentina

First of all, big congratulation to all the Germany supporters, yes your team won 2014 World Cup 2014.

However, I am still supporting Argentina for their great effort.

It was such a great game with many nail biting moments. The first goal (seemingly) scored by Argentina made me really happy even if it was just for few seconds when I didn’t realise that it was off side. But then it was back to reality.

Both the team played so well but I could see that Germany’s team was doing better with more possession of the ball. It was tense, entertaining and both teams pushed hard, but Germany were super organised and did not give their opponents an inch.

I was hoping when there were no goals for 90 minutes that it would be a game of penalty shootouts until Mario Goetze scored the winning goal at 113th minutes and all the hope for Argentina was over. I was definitely heartbroken and it was so sad to see so many Argentina’s supporters crying in the stadium.

Big congratulation to German goalkeeper Manuel Neuerf for the golden glove and Lionel Messi for the World Cup’s best player trophy.

No more soccer for me for another four year. I hope you had as much fun as I did during the whole tournament.

Take care,

Argentina in World cup final :)

I had to write this post because finally the team that I have been supporting from the beginning has reached the final and what a game the semi-final game that got them there was.

Even though both the teams didn’t score a goal during full time and the added extra time, there were lots of times that I was at the end of my seat because there a were few close ones.

Definitely, the hero of this game is Romero who saved two penalty shots against Ron Vlaar and Wesley Sneijder taking Argentina to the world cup final. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

The best photo of the daywas Lionel Messi, Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis, Marcos Rojo, Lucas Biglia, Javier Mascherano, Rodrigo Palacio and Ezequiel Garay of Argentina celebrating defeating the Netherlands in a penalty shoot-out during the 2014 FIFA World Cup semi-final at Arena de Sao Paulo.

Now waiting for Monday morning for the Final and supporting my favourite team to win the World cup 2014.

All the best whoever you are supporting and let’s enjoy the game.

The game everyone talking about (Brazil Vs Germany)

The first semi-final of 2014 world cup was very unusual no matter which team you were supporting. Of course, you guys know that I was rooting for Brazil and it was a huge disappointment.

Me and AS made sure our alarms were set well before we went to sleep last night. Therefore, at 6:00 am this morning, even though it was so cold, we managed to crawl out of bed and went to our lounge to watch one of the most anticipated games of this World Cup.

But to my disappointment and AS’s happiness the goal started to rain down at 11 minutes, 23 minutes,24 minutes, 26 minutes and 29 minutes. I was confused for a while wether the goals were repeat telecast or actual goals.

I could only imagine how happy all the Germany supporters must have been by that time. It was as if the game was over in the first 30 minutes and the poor Brazilian supports who were heartbroken. Even Christ the Redeemer statue must have been crying.

Even though I was supporting Brazil, I have to say that there was not a great teamwork in Brazilian team during the first half. By the time they seemed to get their act together in the second half, it was too late to recover.

Final score, Germany 7, Brazil 1, the only goal that Brazilian scored for the whole game was from Oscar at 90 minutes.

So, Germany has advanced to the final of the World Cup by thumping win over Brazil on their own turf. Toni Kroos and Andre Schuerrle each scored twice, with Miroslav Klose, Thomas Mueller and Sami Khedira adding their dose of pain for the home fans.

Now I am scared to watch the game tomorrow as I know Netherland is a good team and played well this tournament. I am still supporting Argentina and, of course, hope they will go to the final so I can enjoy the final.

Who were you supporting today and who are you planning to support tomorrow? Have your say about the World Cup 2014 games.

Happy Third Anniversary my darling husband

Today is our wedding anniversary. Like every anniversary, I am writing a letter to my dear hubby.

My dearest AS,

I can’t believe that it has been three years of our union because it feels like only yesterday that I met you again and I started believing in forever. Now that we are together, I want to believe in eternity.

I am glad we have made it so far and I am sure we will go far as we love this journey that we are in together. Every year our anniversary becomes more and more special as every year seems to bring more and more happiness and priceless memories.

I couldn’t have done anything without you by my side. Since I met you, my life has never been the same. Thanks for making it better and happier. Even though we are supporting different teams during FIFA world cup, I know that you are happy when my team wins and vice versa. (You know that my team goona win the cup 🙂 ). Despite our differences, I always have fun when I am with you and that is the most important thing and the most precious moments of my life. At least we agree on one thing that The Games of Thrones is the best series ever.

When I feel sad I turn to you for support and when I feel happy I turn to you to celebrate  because I know you will be there for me as my partner and guide. I know I don’t say it often but I want to thank you for all the love and care, for all the moments we shared, which I truly treasured. Happy Anniversary, my love!

All my love, now and always!

Yours M

Australia won the World Cup and the weekend update

I know FIFA World Cups is still underway (I am not crazy :P) and I know that Australia lost its first match against Chile but that is not what I am talking about here.

Australia is the world champions once again, defending their Hockey World Cup title with a 6-1 demolition of the Netherlands. 😀 😀 😀

Australian hockey team also known as the Kookaburras played the most dominant performance of the tournament and gave Australians a reason to celebrate :).

Now back to the soccer world cup, I enjoyed heaps of soccer last weekend. It was great to be home and watch the games. Saturday started early for us as there were a few games on but the very important one at 8am was Chile vs Australia.

It was so disappointing to watch 2 goals from Chile in the first 15 minutes. Seriously, every goal was so painful but Australia did still really push them hard. Then the magic happened, Tim Cahill’s goal with a brilliant header gave some hope back to the Aussies.

There were a few opportunities for Australia in the second half like Cahill (twice) and Mathew Leckie, both headed over during the second half, while Mark Bresciano struck a sweet far-post half-volley that was saved by Claudio Bravo.

Australia went down to Chile 3-1 and I am sad because Australia played really well. We will take on the Netherlands next on Thursday morning. I know Netherlands are good after watching their game with Spain but there is still some hope.

After the game on Saturday, I made a big breakfast with bacon, hash browns, beans, mushroom, eggs, bread and tea. It was more like a brunch than a breakfast and it kept us full for a long time.

big breakfast

The plan for the rest of the afternoon was to clean the house but our friends called to check if we were interested to go to eat Newari food for lunch. We couldn’t resist so we went to Bhancha to enjoy lunch with them. We ordered Fokso fry, Nhyapu (brain fry), jhol momo, choila and chatamari. The food was yummy and I had fun with their daughter.

After a very satisfying lunch, we went to the beach again. We wanted to give our failed walk from last weekend another try and this time there was no rain.

It took us over 90 minutes (over 10,000 steps) to do that walk but it was one of the best things we did for the weekend. The sunset was just beautiful and AS and I talked the whole time.

As the lunch was so filling, AS had salad for dinner and I had some fruits and that was the end of Saturday.

Sunday was planned as a lazy Sunday so we had late breakfast and caught up on some TV shows. I have to admit I wasted many hours watching mindless things on YouTube instead of cleaning the house. So it was already 2pm when I went to the kitchen to make lunch for the day and for the following day. I made an easy chicken couscous, which turned out nice.

After that we Skyped with our parents; it is always nice to catch up with them. By the time we were done with both the family, it was almost the end of the weekend.

Of course, we watched more soccer this morning. Go Argentina 🙂

How was your weekend? Hope you had heaps of fun too.

Take care,
