Things Chhori says: Why winter is in the house?

I think I always write one post every winter stating how much I hate winter and this year is no different. Because we had a hot summer and a warm autumn, winter seems to be too cold. Anyways I was just talking to Chhori the other day about how it is cold in winter, trying to teach her the difference between Spring, Summer, Winter and Autumn.

Me: “There are 4 seasons Chhori. Spring, Summer, Winter and Autumn. Summer is hot and Winter is cold. Winter is here now.”

Chhori: “Why winter is in our house Mama?”

I think this age is so cute. She takes everything literally. I explained to her further and she goes “Ohoo, OK.” and went back to playing with her toys!

Things Choori says: Baby 👶 shower 🚿

One of my good friend is pregnant and we were planning a baby shower for her.

So on the day of the baby shower, I had this conversation with Chhori.

Me: “We are going to N aunt’s baby shower today, go get ready.

Chhori: “Are we showring the baby today? But where is the baby?

Me: “No no we are just getting ready for the baby so we are going to celebrate and have a party for the mom and dad to be, the baby is still inside the tummy.”

Chhori (sounding confused): “So who are we going to shower?

I never thought about it before but Chhori does make her own kind of sense. She takes everything literally and there was no baby to shower.

Things Chhori says: May be she is taking photo with another flower 🌷 💐

One of the things you may have noticed following and reading my blog is that I take heaps of photos. Especially since Chhori came into our life, the number of photos I take have grown and I have thousands of photos of her that I cherish.

I don’t deny the fact that I take heaps of photos and I am glad I do as they remind me of different times when she was a baby.

The photos I see of Chhori when she was just a few months old always manages to melt my heart. I also have some great photos of our whole family that I treasure.

Anyway, while in Korea, we stayed in a hotel which had a big teddy bear and some nice flower arrangements in the lobby. One morning before we went out I asked Chhori to pose next to the teddy and the flower and she followed my instructions really well.

After the photo, I told AS that I will go to the loo before we head out.

While they were waiting for me, AS and Chhori were having a conversation and this is what happened.

Chhori: “Where is mama?”

As: “I don’t know baby.”

Chhori: “May be she is taking photo with another flower”.

AS told me that he was surprised to hear those words from our 3-year-old.

I guess she will be one good observer who will speak her mind in the future.

Love you so much my munchkin!

Things Chhori says : 5 teen :)

Chhori is really interested in reading and writing these days.

She even watches educational videos on Youtube Kids.

The other day we got a paper from childcare where she had written her own name.

She can also write from A to J (not to Z yet).

On top of that we discovered during the holiday that she can spell her name so we started teaching her other words like “Papa”, “Mama”, “Food”, “Cat” etc.

Anyway, she can say A to Z and A for Apple to Z for Zebra.

She can also count well till 20 and with a little help can do up to 50 but there are some numbers she makes mistake with but even that is so cute when she says them.

So she will go 1, 2, ………10, 11, 12,13, 14 and 5teen instead of 15. She also says 29, twenty10 instead of 30.

We are definitely correcting her every time we hear them but it is so good to see her willingness to learn.

We read to her every day before bed and try to get her to spell the words as well.

Do you recommend any apps or special videos to keep her inquisitive mind busy?

Things Chhori says: Bad guy shoot you??

One day AS came home with bandage on one of his arms after his blood donation that day from work.

When Chhori saw the bandage, she said “Papa what happened? (Pointing to the bandage) Bad guys shoot you? “

Both of us wanted to laugh but we tried not to and explained to her that daddy gave blood and it was because of the needle.

Things like this makes me wonder what goes on in her tiny brain.

Please share any weird and wonderful words that have come from your kids.
